Sales Tax - Markus - Dec 5, 2018 Title:
Sales Tax
Description:
Add income tax into the game, which could be calculated
after every purchase made from the Market.
Why?:
Let's face it, many of us have made suggestions or have had ideas of
how the government could actually help the betterment of the city, like
actual governments do.
However, I believe that these suggestions missed the most
critical aspect of a government: money.
Now of course, if the governments keep wasting money,
then the people will still have a reason to force them to make a change.
Either peacefully or.... not so peacefully.
RE: Income Tax - Soviethooves - Dec 5, 2018 +Support when we get a proper POS system for stores RE: Income Tax - Montyfatcat - Dec 5, 2018 Seems a dodgy way to do it, I would need some time but I think I can work on something that would be a bit less hit or miss RE: Income Tax - Hungames - Dec 5, 2018 Do you mean sales tax? we already collect a 0-20% income tax RE: Income Tax - Markus - Dec 6, 2018 (Dec 5, 2018, 10:37 PM)Hungames Wrote: Do you mean sales tax? we already collect a 0-20% income tax That. RE: Sales Tax - BlackDog - Dec 6, 2018 I mean, if we had a proper PoS system, and the money didnt just go straight to the president but into a government bank account thats used to fund the government itself. Then id support this, BUT there would also need to be a way to bypass this entirely, much like the income tax also requires a way for people to opt out, but risk jail time. Already on it with that one RE: Sales Tax - Markus - Dec 6, 2018 (Dec 6, 2018, 01:05 AM)BlackDog Wrote: I mean, if we had a proper PoS system, and the money didnt just go straight to the president but into a government bank account thats used to fund the government itself. As I have said in the beginning, this would be part of that better system. I also agree that we need to lay a better foundation for the whole government, however, this would make us be able to secure the funding for a new system. The bolded and underlined: How exactly would a sales tax of ingame money fund any development on a new governmental banking system? Once the new proposed governmental changes would be implemented, we would still be looking at the problem that the government as a whole -without cutting funding from crucial branches- earns less compared to a single citizen's income, than an actual government would make compared to an actual citizen's income. Simply said: governments IRL make 1000x more than a citizen of that country. Now, of course, there are other ways to earning money as well (see example in the second line), however removing a few percentages of a person's sales income is -in my opinion- the least obtrusive way to do it. RE: Sales Tax - Jeff Ford - Dec 6, 2018 +Support There should be a city funds system. Money collected goes to the President and his cabinet that get the taxes, and also goes to like a "federal reserve" where the President can use the money, for example;

A better economic system would be nice. RE: Sales Tax - StephanGH - Dec 7, 2018 I don't know. It really depends on if the government system is reworked any time soon. In which case it would be interesting to have a sale tax that the President could make larger or less. RE: Sales Tax - Cooli - Dec 12, 2018 Neutral. |
