Mechanic Job Changes (TEMP IDEA) - Soviethooves - Dec 28, 2017

Changes:

1. Add the Empty Petrol Can to the GM. This can be filled at any gas pump for a $500 charge (by pressing “Use” in your inventory while looking at a pump), which will turn it into a Petrol Can to be used on a car to fill it up to 20% fuel.

2. Toolboxes and Empty Petrol Cans are now bought from Mechanics.
This way, there is a more profitable reason and need to be in the Mechanic job. Not to mention, he would be needed now instead of a random citizen just grabbing a toolbox and doing his job.

3. Mechanics are warned before fixing anything and are charged for “parts” when repairing parts of cars.
This forces the Mechanic to make a profit by even telling him in the repair window how much repairing each piece is (The Repair Window we have already that is).

4. The /customize screen now has a list of prices for each upgrade and once these are attached, they are permanent.
Another chance for a Mechanic to make a better calculated profit.

5. Refund all users for their tow trucks and give it a 5 REP Requirement unless you’re a Mechanic.
This further promotes the Mechanic job and offers another goal for REP’s for general players.

6. Fluctuate the above price of parts and attachments towards the car.
This would mean bigger bucks for repairing and customizing say a McLaren, but it would cost you pennies to fix that Trabant you own.

7. When’s Mechanic is on, gas station repairs are increased by x5.
Furthers the use of a Mechanic for repairs and allows people to not pay out the ass when one isn’t on.

Reasoning

The job is shit. No confirmed pay, no parts needed, just swing a magic tool and everything is fixed. This would give the job a little more profit and push players to USE the Mechanic job and depend on it for repairs. Not to mention this is all a temporary solution until the year 3308 when we get the VCMOD updated with their repair, refueling, and damage systems.

Neutral (add it to the Poll please).

RE: Mechanic Job Changes (TEMP IDEA) - Taylor - Dec 28, 2017

Not being funny but what is the literal point of putting neutral, you either want something added or you don't.

Ask Switzerland.

You can be 50/50 on something. World is not black/white; can be grey too.

If you're 50/50 on something then there is no point of commenting, if you don't want it put -Support if you do put +Support. Neutral is completely useless, it gives no feedback and is a waste of time to post.

With that said +Support

So.. ?
Its his choice what he posts and his lost time when he posts neutral.

With that being said.
Neutral.

If you’re going to put Neutral, put why. Just putting Neutral doesn’t help anyone.

1: Why should anybody pay more to fill up a gas can instead of her/his car? Unrealistic IMO

2: How are players supposed to repair their cars if no mech is online?

5: dont think its necessary

I believe refueling at a station is slightly more or less the same as the one I proposed. It’s afterall a backup gas can. It will cost you a pretty penny to carry gas anywhere you want.

2: How are players supposed to repair their cars if no mech is online?

- Contact 911 for assistance in getting your car to the gas station.
not to mention with this we would see more motorist assistance from police officers, so they get a chance to be more of a helping hand.
- Call a friend with a tow truck.
- Buy a toolbox off someone else.

5: dont think its necessary
