That i3 is basicly a 7th gen i5. And it was cheaper than 7th gen i5 when I bought the set.

I don't play such high games, that I'd notice any bottleneck. Taking that gtx 1060 is a mid tier gpu and i3 being 8th gen is directly comparable to a 7th gen i5. Also I have the opportunity due my motherboard to actually upgrade to a 8th gen i5 or i7.
