RE: Shooting in London - TrumanBen - Nov 24, 2017

"No causalities, evidence of any shots fired or any suspects were located by police," the Met said in a statement.

Hold yer horses /pol/tards, lower your cultural enrichment memes and your frogs... False alarm.

The reason they responded with so much force is due to black Friday.

And a shooting on black Friday well that isn't going to end on a happy note.

Terror attacks in Africa are a daily occurrence, yes it is awful but judging by the lack of players in this community from the region, you can't really expect much. Limelight is also a forum where anyone with an account can post in the news section, if you feel like the coverage of this attack was not sufficient then you can easily post about it and maybe bring more awareness to the issue.

Or you could just complain, eh. :p

Well considering this fake news could be posted I’d assume some one would actually post it themselves. Considering it was at the top of r/news on Reddit

Yeah but it was at the top of the r/news sub Reddit, it’s not like it was on some random news outlet

That doesn't justify shit. So what if it was on the top /r/news, if you complain that someone doesn't post something you think should be posted, then do it yourself. Imo, you're being hypocritical, you are saying that someone should've posted it already, but you, yourself, won't post it.

That's not my point, my point is someone took the time to make a post that was Fake news. But no one, including me can take the time to make a post where now 305 people died

People will always be more interested, and emotionally swayed by events that transpired near them, in their country, or to somebody they are close with. When something happens close to home, it's relate-able. Other people talk about it, media covers it extensively, and it could have been you.

When it happens in another country, it's different. Sure, you don't feel good about it. (unless you are a psychopath.)
But it's far away, to people you do not know, in a place where you are not, where your family and friends are not. That is why people did not make a post about what happen in Egypt, but when something happens in the USA, Belgium, The UK, it does. While it's sad that we do not worry about those event, or sympathies with everyone the same. This is the way it has been for a long time, and it is the way many people behave and think. The closer it is to home, the harder it hits. The further away the less we care.

Personally I find the events that transpired in Egypt deeply saddening. No matter my personal opinions on religion.

But I am not of the opinion that making forum threads, talking about matters like this help, especially not on LimeLight. Sure certain events need to be spotlighted, like net neutrality. But this is not the right community to discuss religion, or terrorist attacks in.

Egypt went downhill after Anwar Sadat was assassinated.
