Once i open gmod, it stops responding(aka crash).

Are you using any launch parameters?
Any significant change you made in the game recently?

Have you done the usual suspects of Verify Cache, Clear Addons, Clear Lua and Reinstalling?

In your GMOD directory, you'll find a bat named FactoryReset-GMod.bat or something similar.
Please run this file.
NOTE
This will remove this folders:
\garrysmod\cfg
\garrysmod\settings
\garrysmod\data
\garrysmod\download
\garrysmod\downloads
\garrysmod\downloadlists
\garrysmod\gamemodes\base
\garrysmod\gamemodes\sandbox
\garrysmod\gamemodes\terrortown
\garrysmod\lua
\garrysmod\cache
And this databases:
\garrysmod\cl.db
\garrysmod\sv.db
\garrysmod\mn.db

Try go to your LIBRARY > RightClick on Garry's Mod > Properties > BETAS > Change to Development Branch if you haven't done so yet.
