Event Suggestion: 1984 RP - Zeyon - Mar 13, 2017

I thought it would be pretty cool if some of the more talented event managers could set up an RP based on the novel by George Orwell.

What is 1984?

Nineteen Eighty-Four is set in Oceania, one of three inter-continental superstates that divided the world after a global war. Most of the plot takes place in London, the "chief city of Airstrip One," the Oceanic province that "had once been called England or Britain." Posters of the Party leader, Big Brother, bearing the caption "BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU," dominate the city, while the ubiquitous telescreen monitors the private and public lives of the populace. The class hierarchy of Oceania has three levels:

(I) the upper-class Inner Party, the elite ruling minority, who make up 2% of the population.
(II) the middle-class Outer Party, who make up 13% of the population.
(III) the lower-class Proles (, who make up 85% of the population and represent the uneducated working class.

As the government, the Party controls the population with four ministries:

the Ministry of Peace deals with war and defence.
the Ministry of Plenty deals with economic affairs (rationing and starvation).
the Ministry of Love deals with law and order (torture and brainwashing).
the Ministry of Truth deals with news, entertainment, education and art (propaganda).

Made a few of these logos for something I had been working on but feel free to use them
as I would also like to see an event of this kind take place.

Would love to help make this happen, those from FL know I did a HL2 event there that had many similar dystopian vibes to it. Would be interesting to make an event out of this.

An interesting concept, Zeyon!

Do you have a map in mind? (as in do you intend to use v4b1 like normal, or another map that may be more suited towards this sort of RP?)

Not at the moment. I was considering one of the HL:RP ones but there's combine artwork posted everywhere. Maybe plain old EvoCity could work.

Not sure atm.

A couple of questions,

Would you like a more modernised version or have it in a vintage look?

Would you like a city wide event with people continuing city roleplays or a neighbourhood?

Also, I believe that as you have suggested the idea you should have more part in it than just suggesting, even if people talented in managing events prepare the event I think you can have a hand in preparing it Smile

I'm not planning the event I just suggested it to the community. Anything goes for me it's up to you guys how you want to do this, if at all.
