By taking the server down it makes it a lot easier to execute actions and means that they won't have people moaning on hte server about lag spikes/constant time-outs.

I think it's been a good call to take it offline for a bit to get some maintenance done and to improve stability. Hopefully the team will figure out what's been bugging the servers. Good luck, guys.

lol - Seriously though, not a bad idea. I still think it's stress related as opposed to a script bug, seeing as it seems to occur as more players join the server.
