Make sure you have model quality set to high, other settings are prone to crashing.

This is not really required anymore due to Workshop Related Issues Guide generally solving any mapping issues as the file is now located in the workshop.
I'm going to archive this for future use if the time ever does come we'd require to re-open this thread.
