But that's OK; everyone here is entitled to their opinion and can post freely. I do want to clarify a few things however. What kind of investment is that though when all the servers are usually empty now? Re: Money Packs - Noble - Nov 20, 2015 [size=1em]Now you guys want a stock market? Not like there are any forum posts about Mathias and I working on one in our free time or anything. These guys spent months working on a system that looks fucking beautiful and promising. It's something you'll never see in garry's mod servers anywhere and your response is "Why not JUST make it in game?". This kind of ungrateful shit can really piss me off and I'm sure others agree. You should be glad we even get a stock exchange like this. Great work Noble, looks fucking fantastic and I can't wait to use it. Re: Money Packs - Noble - Nov 20, 2015 Because Mathias and I are specialize in front/back-end web development, not lua. Hosting it online as opposed to directly in-game allows us to do a lot more than we ever could on there. In addition you'll be able to trade/invest in stocks anywhere you can access the internet, not just in-game. And thanks guys, Mathias deserves most of the credit though getting all the backend stuff to function properly. There was a reason for the way I worded the things there, and I had actually no intention on mocking the system at all. And of course, we'll never see something like this in any other GMod server because originality is completely gone, thanks to ScriptFodder and CoderHire. It does not take months to write a system like this I can assure you however. Everything from a few days to a week or two. When I remember, there is actually another system you could write, which would be even more useful than a stock market, but it also requires a tons of checks and other means. I do like the GTA 5-like stock market, which I also found quite simplistic and good in the game. RE: Money Packs - Welker - Nov 25, 2015 Booooooo! ![]() RE: Money Packs - equal - Nov 25, 2015 What's the big fuzz about, honestly. People found ways to make money through selling donator statusses anyways. It's good to see Limelight FINALLY moving forward, it is pretty dead around here. |
