Its not always going to happen its just more likely to happen. If they were to reveal their requirements, it would likely lead to people developing 'fake' personalities, where they put on an act to be someone who they aren't in reality. Intentionally or unintentionally, it would change people's personalities artificially. Being a staff member isn't a popularity contest, and it would be even harder for the newly recruited moderator to ban the very same people who nominated them for a staff role. Think about staff that were Teachers before staff, would it have been hard for them to punish the people that +Supported their application? There's usually quite a while before somebody becomes a moderator from a teacher role, and even if it's a short interval, it's a change of position which wasn't directly caused by the support for their teacher application. Moderators and administrators are both members of staff, whilst teachers aren't. There's a big difference. That's why I'm against community nominations for staff roles? Perhaps you should read what you're writing. If you support somebody's application for teacher, you're helping them to get that teacher role, not their moderator role if they go on to become a moderator. It's prime-time on friday evening and there's not a single staff member online out of one which is afk and farming hours. How comes???
