Re: New forum online - Lord Octagon - Aug 2, 2015 Oh yeah! Re: New forum online - James - Aug 2, 2015 Great work in only one day! This software is going to take some getting used to, but I'm sore it'll be great once I've learned how to use it ![]() Good luck boys! Re: New forum online - Faustie - Aug 2, 2015 I've added a way for people to quote selected text. Highlight the text that you wish to quote, and then in the actions menu select quote - it'll quote only the highlighted text in the quick-reply box. If no text is highlighted, it'll quote the entire message in the quick-reply box, as usual. If you want to quote something in the full editor, collapse the quick-reply box first. Re: New forum online - Faustie - Aug 2, 2015 I've improved the video embedding. You can now embed videos from 80-90 sources, including youtube, facebook, liveleak, twitch, many news sites, vine, and more. Re: New forum online - bimkx - Aug 2, 2015 So how come you chose SMF over MyBB? Genuine question btw Re: New forum online - Faustie - Aug 2, 2015 For us, at least, it's proven to be easier to use and far less buggy than MyBB. Obviously with enough maintenance, neither is that superior to the other, but SMF has thus far been a pleasure to work with. I've also added a new BB function, the dice roll. Seeing as we're a roleplay server, we may as well allow bits of roleplay on the forums, too. Simply put something like 2d6 or 1d10 or 2d6+5 or even {Fire} 3d20<10 (displays 'fire', rolls a dice of 20 3 times, and rerolls if any numbers are under 10). The full syntax is here https://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2032 Some examples: [blockquote]Rolled 1d6 : 1, total 1[/blockquote] [blockquote]Rolled 2d12+5 : 2, 6 + 5, total 13[/blockquote] [blockquote]Rolled 2d20<10 : 16, 20, total 0[/blockquote] [blockquote]Freezing 1d10 : 1, total 1 Fire 1d20 : 9, total 9[/blockquote] This is obviously just a tiny little feature, but it might lead to a few small forum RPs, perhaps even a basic D&D game? Re: New forum online - Faustie - Aug 2, 2015 And as you can see, quoting/editing dice-rolls causes a tamper warning to come up in case of serious D&D games or whatever. I'm looking to add country flags now. Re: New forum online - Falcon - Aug 2, 2015 Great! Re: New forum online - General Rickets - Aug 2, 2015 Niiiiicee Re: New forum online - Faustie - Aug 4, 2015 I've added spoiler code. It's got a feature that we didn't have back on FL, and it looks much cleaner overall, too. I hope you like it. Code: Syntax is [spoiler]text[/spoiler] or [spoiler=title]text[/spoiler] to use a title. |
