RE: Addressing staff inactivity - Lewwings - Sep 20, 2019 Why is this even a discussion? Letting players choose/vote for staff will lead to nothing but a counter-productive popularity contest. lol RE: Addressing staff inactivity - Taylor - Sep 20, 2019 (Sep 20, 2019, 01:36 AM)Lewwings77 Wrote: Why is this even a discussion? The moderators are not roaming the world to ban misbehaving players, that is handled using their systems. Besides, the odds of a moderator in the game abusing their powers is very low, as you have a lot more at risk as opposed to being a staff member on a gameserver. By abusing powers, you would literally risk your entire career. That is true, although it is exactly what I said: The odds of them doing it is low, because they are taking a massive risk. I can ensure Mod Reach there and Mod Jed (who also did some stuff) is completely unhireable now. People even joked about Jed fleeing to Argentina, because ironically it would not have been a stupid decision to run away from the law. Do you really think it’s a good idea to have the community appoint people that can forcefully remove players, compared to what we have right now? That being, right now admins and HR members who are skilled in having these powers vote for responsible players to become staff? IMO, I’d rather have people that are trusted with those serious powers to be the sole voters on more staff. If you don’t like their choice, you could always find a reason WHY they’re bad as staff and send it to HR. That seems pretty relevant to me RE: Addressing staff inactivity - Taylor - Sep 21, 2019 (Sep 21, 2019, 02:42 AM)Gungranny Wrote:(Sep 20, 2019, 07:41 PM)Faustin Wrote:(Sep 20, 2019, 06:56 PM)Gungranny Wrote: They are....but they can FORCEFULLY remove someone from the server. No I don’t think it’s a good idea, but if you were to read my posts you’d realise I’m saying we shouldn’t vote on teachers, NOT we should vote on staff RE: Addressing staff inactivity - Soviethooves - Sep 21, 2019 (Sep 21, 2019, 12:00 PM)Faustin Wrote:(Sep 21, 2019, 02:42 AM)Gungranny Wrote:(Sep 20, 2019, 07:41 PM)Faustin Wrote: How is that relevant? Ahh my bad. Then I still disagree with your argument. Although we don’t impact the final choice a lot, it’s another way for staff and teachers to see if someone is good enough for the team. If it was just based on staff vote, they wouldn’t have as many teachers |
