RE: The Return of V2D - The Rock - Jun 26, 2016 We shouldnt change rockford for v2d , and if we needed a 3 server i would prefer something new like paralake rp or the old v2p , not v2d , but we dont have playerbase for it , we barrelly have v33x full , instead of it update v33x to v4b1 , almost the same but better RE: The Return of V2D - Toxic - Jun 26, 2016 (Jun 23, 2016, 01:19 PM)Markus Wrote:(Jun 22, 2016, 06:12 PM)Dig Wrote: snip It's a map that would only be brought back now for the sake of nostalgia, and then we'd loop back to people asking for a newer map none too soon afterword.^^ RE: The Return of V2D - Blurr - Jun 29, 2016 To be honest, a trial of the map would be cool and then we can see if people would play it or not. v2d was a great map back in the day and multiple people enjoy playing it with all their dupes too! Not to mention the many dupes readily available too. RE: The Return of V2D - Taylor - Jun 29, 2016 Lol no. Bring back v2p in stead RE: The Return of V2D - Taylor - Jun 30, 2016 (Jun 26, 2016, 04:27 AM)The Rock Wrote: We shouldnt change rockford for v2d , and if we needed a 3 server i would prefer something new like paralake rp or the old v2p , not v2d , but we dont have playerbase for it , we barrelly have v33x full , instead of it update v33x to v4b1 , almost the same but better What do you mean? V33x is almost always full RE: The Return of V2D - Soviethooves - Jun 30, 2016 So far this is the main points I see for people to want V2D back: 1.Old Dupes 2.Better Optimization 3.Nostalgia Pros -Again, nostalgic -Optimization is great -Everyone has dupes for it Cons -Roadways are simple and one-way pathed -Small map size -Never had a steady playerbase -Very bland from some players' perspectives Ok. So, let's compare these to other maps trialed in the past. V2P 1. Ok, let's not lie here, almost no one has dupes on here. 2. Was perfectly optimized. 3. Not really nostalgic due to only a handful of players that actually went on it. Pros -Again, well optimized -Extensive roadways with multiple paths -Medium Sized Map -Large amounts of different styles locations -Working entities for RP (subway train & working crane) -Large amounts of buildings that can be used for building Cons -Tunnels give illusion of large scale map that some players do not like -Never could get over 30+ Players at any point when trialed -Can feel empty at times Rockford 1. Most US Players and some EU Players have dupes on Rockford 2. Great Optimization 3. Would be nostalgic at this point for most or all US Players Pros -Again, well optimized -Vast amount of roadways and an Interstate to link the map with different routes -Over the top shoreline -Large amounts of real estate for building -Never really felt empty even with 20+ Players on -Police, Paramedic, and Fire Stations -Special Buildings for Specific RP (Theater, Taco Bell, Real Estate building, Bar, Stocked Gas Stations, etc.) -Had a steady playerbase for US of usually around 20-30 Players most days Cons -Abandon due to lack of support and advertising for playerbase EU and US -Automatic Doors and Town Hall Lift prone to glitching players -Can give off a "Big Map Feeling" that can deter certain players unknown to the map Just gonna leave this for discussion. This seems to be the theme for wanting this map back. We have dupes for it. However, should we not focus on what would be good to draw more people in? We need a larger playerbase. Not a place of nostalgia that the existing players can go back to the old days. I feel the question should be, would this be good for bringing in new players? I feel that would be a no. I did get started on this map. And I played on it for a good long while. That is until I realized that there was other maps available. When I loaded those up I never came back. RE: The Return of V2D - Nev - Jul 1, 2016 r u guys still seriously talking about v2d?? RE: The Return of V2D - Vauld - Jul 1, 2016 v2d is better in basically every way besides roads. v33x explodes under any sort of pressure from events, dupes, anything. Easy choice imo. RE: The Return of V2D - PaulB - Jul 1, 2016 In my opinion V2D is a map that old-timers want back as they have all their dupes, prefer the FPS and mainly because they played on it a lot on another community, we've tried to revive Rockford and their still isn't enough people, if we were to put V2D into the pool you'll have to remove Rockford. RE: The Return of V2D - Blurr - Jul 11, 2016 Rockford should be removed and v2d should have a trial run once again. There is also no harm in having it so one week the map is v2d then the next week it is rockford. Heres's an infinitely better idea: Cycle EvoCity v2d and v33x on the EU server, and cycle Rockford v1bleh and v2ballin' on the US server. RE: The Return of V2D - The Rock - Jul 11, 2016 Let v2d in the pass |
