There already is a way to revert it but that just changes the friends part, the actual client remains the same. However, apparently a fan patch has fixed the metro skin you use. https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/91l6eb/revert_to_old_ui/

Voice Chat sucks now.
It takes more CPU than Discord voice chat and it crackles 24/7

Hate it. Cant use Metro theme, Lags, Sometimes crashes, Had to reset icon on taskbar.
