In all honesty trying to take a REALLY good screenshot on live is extremely difficult and is still nothing compared to what can be conveyed in a few minutes in SP. Most servers don't actually use screenshots for their loading screens because they understand this.

And the first picture is a screenshot so as to add a little more flavor. It was either a screenshot of that briefing or the 3 man car crash because someone decided to bait the whole PD to their doomfort. Doesn't sound like a good thing to show when people (Maybe even for the first time) join the server.

Screenshots within the server can be hard to capture if it is a live scene. Hence why using SP or SFM is a lot more easier.

I see no issue using Single Player to create scenes? If anything it means you can get a lot more out of the scene and add a lot more detail. I mean I would much rather have a more detailed and beautiful scene then something that doesn't appeal to the eye.
