How does your character being at risk not matter?
Lets be honest, almost nobody cares when their character dies because all it does is employ the NLR cycle. Also the person with the gun is putting their life at risk.
I care my character has died.
Thats what lots of people say but it is never true.
Why does dying or getting injured always have to be about losing something? You are risking your life driving into someone. What if you crash into the wall?
Being able to run people over (with VALID reasoning) stops the criminals from freely walking down the middle of the street gunning down any opposition. You can go behind them and take them down. It doesn't have to be a 70 MPH ram, it could be a 30 MPH takedown.

I could have sworn we already had a rule regarding using your vehicle in self-defense.
But yes, of course you should be allowed to run someone over if they're within range of your vehicle and threatening you with a weapon, or shooting at you in the middle of the road and the most logical thing to do would be to run them over.
CDMing people aggressively should never be allowed though, such as seeing someone with a gun on their property and driving recklessly to try to attack them.
An easy rule would be to only allow defensive CDM on public roads and parking lots (areas where it makes sense that someone acting hostile towards you would be run over when you're in a vehicle), but nowhere else.
(As in: Not on private property, parks/grass areas, the beach or in the woods, etc.)

I get hit enough with people doing donuts around me while I'm walking places, then they make some excuse like "lag", after they did 27 donuts around you before they clipped you, take your stuff, and leave the server. That's WITH the cdm rule. Imagine a world without it.

Get in car.
Find people.
Cuss at people till they try and act "tough."
Hit them with your car.
Laugh at them and tell them to use @.
Laugh at staff and reveal "rp" reason.
#winning, drink gravy.
Repeat till the rule changes back after too many complaints.

I mean, honestly, if you wanna go for realism, let me inject heroin into other people, as a method to kill them. Also, allow for organ harvesting, so I can roleplay some real life and shit.
