No major country is going to actively let the world end. But they will watch something go wrong, i can assure you. Nobody cares about what happens in 100 years, because they'll be dead by then. The fact that we let politicians with no actual knowledge of the real world run our countries is just saddened. Also, that country you call "Free" is controlled by corrupcy and elections that will always favour one two party.

You are right on that. Latest election wasn't even an election, just a fight for who could be more attention-whoring.
