The system detects any drugs that have been used from the moment of player spawn (so every respawn it resets). For alcohol, it lasts as long as the alcohol takes effect.

Unfortunately the chances of players actually consuming drugs/alcohol are fairly low, however, we do have it so that it does detect steroid use (which most people use for woodcutting, etc), so this could potentially be used in situations where the president imposes laws/restrictions regarding the use of pharmaceuticals.

Would be sweet if certain drugs gave you small advantages in-game, like a slight HP boost, no hunger for a set amount of time, etc. Only small boosts, nothing too great. Would give people reasons to actually use drugs.

Hopefully this will encourage punishment of DUI. Most of the time people didn't care unless I went full on blatant (hitting every car possible while screaming about how much I've had to drink.) Even loading my Raptor with beer bottles and losing control and wrecking, sending bottles flying right in front of a cop wasn't enough. He just helped me clean up and politely declined my offer of a cold one.

Imagine if using weed just played some ambient smooth jazz. Some kind of way to reflect how the character would be feeling when they take various drugs.
