I have tried manual, but I couldn't wrap my head around it. Maybe in the future, ill switch to manual. I know a couple of people who enjoy driving stick. One of my friends owns a Mazda 3 MPS (AWD sports car) and he loves throwing it around corners. And it only comes in manual. RE: Driving school - RK-FIN - Aug 4, 2016 So at last I achieved my driving licence on the first go! RE: Driving school - Faustie - Aug 4, 2016 Nice one, man! Going to echo Stomm's advice though because it's gold. You're never as good a driver as you think you are. No-one is. So don't use your phone and drive, and don't go crazy with speed, and don't show off to your friends. Our roads are busy and complex, and you're driving a heavy vehicle with a lot of force behind it, and physics doesn't give a fuck. I can't wait for when all cars are autonomous, as Tesla is trying to achieve; it'll make our roads a lot safer. Another little tidbit that hasn't been said here yet: green means go when it's safe, not 'go'. If you're rolling through a crossroads on green, or if you're about to go, it's always good practice to glance at your sides quickly - you never know when someone is going to run a red. All this safety advice can sound boring and stiff to a lot of young drivers, especially with a group of mates in the car, but it's so important. As I said, physics doesn't give a fuck. Besides, did you ever play that game Sleeping Dogs? In some of the missions you had to escort girls around in your car, and you actually got laid more if you drove smoothly and safely. You'd be surprised how close that is to reality. Yeah, sometimes lads just want the thrill of you driving fast and unsafe, but most passengers you get want to feel safe in your car, especially the girls I've known. So yeah, incentive to drive safe. RE: Driving school - Brynn - Aug 4, 2016 Congrats RK! I'll be sitting my test end of November ![]() RE: Driving school - Toxic - Aug 4, 2016 I've been driving for almost 5 years now. Fun stuff. RE: Driving school - Blurr - Sep 15, 2016 I recently passed my Theory Test after having my lessons on hold for some time. I am booking my practical test in the coming days, although the wait list is December-January time! Resuming my lessons on the 28th hoping to get enough practice in for the real test ![]() RE: Driving school - Dan - Sep 15, 2016 I got my first ticket a couple weeks ago. Officer said I was doing 56 in a 35, though that's bullshit. Taking it to court in a few weeks RE: Driving school - Blurr - Sep 15, 2016 Good luck #AmericanPolice RE: Driving school - Barkles - Sep 15, 2016 I passed my test in January, looking at a bigger more luxury car once insurance goes up in Jan |
