We don't have a tool that captures steam overlay. That was disabled a very long time ago. When you say "that was disabled long a very time ago" - do you mean it as it was once a tool you guys had access to in-game, or Garry's Mod or whatever disabled the feature entirely? I know it's kinda a dumb question but I'm curious. RE: Staff to community Q & A - Enzyme - Aug 30, 2017 We had that power before that showed steam overlay but it was disabled for privacy concerns. RE: Staff to community Q & A - Taylor - Aug 30, 2017 Why do different staff members have different opinions on the rules? Especially those admins from America, for example I was told by an American admin it was acceptable to use a firearm to prevent crime as a citizen, unless police arrived - however was told the dead opposite by a European mod. This is just one of many situations where this has happened. Being a staff member isn't as easy as you'd think, there's a lot of work and a lot of stress behind it. There are endless walls of text created by @Overlewd (Probably as we speak) that you must read and reply to. Not to mention all the stress you get from @ calls and RDM reports when your'e on the server, and having to deal with people who might never admit that they broke the rules and going through the logs to look through some small details just to find out who's right and who's wrong. There's a lot of work to it and I can't expect you or anyone else to understand how stressful and soul-destroying it can be. But for those who know me on steam, know that I'll almost never reject anyone who calls for my aid on the server, if its important like a major rule-breakage I'll most likely come on if I was around my computer. I try my best to do my job all of the time, but sometimes taking a break is healthy and its not possible to continue being a healthy and active staff member if you don't take breaks. RE: Staff to community Q & A - Night - Aug 30, 2017 With a team of 21 staff members which have moderation or administrative powers, it's impossible to be on the same page regarding every single rule there is. Of course we do try to discuss things we aren't certain about, but sometimes that doesn't work too well. As I suggested on a similar thread, it's usually best that if you aren't certain on something, you clarify it with the staff online at that moment. Grey areas can of course be sorted out by HR where needs be, but that won't happen if they aren't identified. I would approach them if you feel that there's a grey areawhich needs clarify though, for sure. This is just one of many situations where this has happened. American citizens use firearms for self-defense. European citizens don't have easy access to the firearms we have in the states. As a citizen you should always attempt to contact the police first unless you are currently making a quick decision. So if someone is getting mugged across the street, call 911. If you're getting mugged, use your gun. I can understand what being a staff member is like, being an ex-FL admin alongside Temar and BlackDog during the time we had two, full 72 slot servers and not half the commands that you guys have now to assist you with your jobs. That's why I bring this issue up, as I know what it's like to need support on a full server and I'm constantly seeing staff unable to answer @calls or having to rush off from @calls because there just isn't enough, if any, staff members on the server. As @Enzyme has stated, he and @Overlewd will look at strengthening the moderator team to ensure the server is effectively supervised. Personally I feel that more moderators is the best way to approach the issue as they'll add to the resources available and hopefully begin another generation of staff members full of new ideas for Limelight. While we'll be looking at recruiting more moderators to compensate for a lack of moderation staff in-game, I feel it needs to be made clear that our standards and expectations of candidates will not drop as that will only weaken the team. RE: Staff to community Q & A - Obay - Sep 3, 2017 This concern was raised internally due to privacy and one of the requirements before we were enlisted as business it that Player privacy was air tight. For that reason steam overlay was removed from our screen grab tool. This change was not listed on the change logs due to it being admin only RE: Staff to community Q & A - Nudel - Sep 3, 2017 Why it was not told to us before, that such kind of a tool got used?
