Allowing evidence to be collected from dead bodies - Kung Fury - Jan 22, 2016

Suggestion for <in-game/forum/teamspeak etc.> in-game

In detail, explain your suggestion: Having dead bodies stay for a longer time after death (5-10 min) and making it so that basic evidence can be collected (like in TTT) from the body, such as:

ID
Approximate time of death
Cause of death (stab/trauma wounds if melee weapon, caliber of bullet if firearm)
Anything special they had on their person (things such as body armor)
EDIT: Maybe also the /description of that person if they had one

Why should this be implemented? Unless law enforcement catches someone in the act of killing someone, or they receive testimony from a witness, the chances of a killer being caught are extremely small. It would help bring justice for the many murders that go unsolved and would greatly improve police/detective RP.

Also would be cool if it shows a firearm recently fired upon search

Hmm means the dead player wont be able to spawn for about 5-10 mins. Not sure if thats a good idea to force some sort of investigation on every player. An optional investigation button on that NLR-dialogue might be a good deal.

Once a player got killed the NLR menu shows up with a new button called "Investigation". If the player clicks the button, a timer will be set to 5-10 mins so the cops/detectives can go investigate. It's basically the same as with the medic system. An injured player can either wait or die.

Great idea, But it should be made a tool only specifically a special type of police can use. Maybe a new "detective" job? Something to look into. Anyways +Support.

What if the body itself get left where the he/she died even if the player respawn.
The player arent able to get back to that location within 10minutes and you can investigate it.
So after 10 minutes the body dissapears when NLR timer is over.

I don't know about in America since all officers are armed, but in the UK we can tell if someone has fired a gun recently because they'll have firearms residue on their hands. This is why our armed officers aren't actually allowed to search for weapons, and the regular officers have to do it, because firearms officers will have firearms residue on their hands and could contaminate evidence. When someone is arrested for firearms offenses, their hands are covered with evidence bags to preserve the residue so we can see if they've fired a gun.

tl;dr
it's possible irl to determine to an accurate degree whether or not the suspect has recently fired a gun
