3 people have been stabbed at Leystone Tube Station by a man wielding a knife and threatening people, and is now being treated as a 'terrorist incident' by the Metropolitan Police's Counter-Terrorism Command.

Police responded at 1900 GMT, after calls were made about people being attacked by a man holding a knife. Police eventually tasered the man and arrested him.

There has been major disruption across the network, and trains are no longer running between Liverpool Street and Woodford and Newbury Park as well as major delays on the rest of line.

3 injured is a very good outcome, it could have been so much worse if the attacker had firearms. Also kudos to the police force for taking in the attacker alive - again that would've gone very differently in other particular countries.

Indeed, the British Transport Police and the Metropolitan Police handled it very well and without causing injury to anyone else.

I think this shows though, that we need to be vigilant because of recent events.

Considering a taser was ineffective and it took them a couple times to overpower him, it could have went very bad for the officers.

Well weapons were drawn probably incase he tried to attacked them.

Mhhm. I'm not trying to discredit the officers or anything, because it was a good job. But it could have ended worse as it didn't seem like they had any lethal cover.

British officers aren't routinely issued firearms.

SCO19 - The Metropolitan Police's firearms unit wouldn't get there fast enough - and the BTP's Firearms Unit? That'll be right.

I know they aren't issued firearms. That's why I said it could have went really badly with no lethal cover considering a taser was ineffective and it took them a couple tries to overpower him.

Tasers are weapons.

The taser was pretty effective, it took the assailant down without killing him and no officers were injured.

British police aren't given lethal weaponry as standard which something which I agree with. Tasers get the job done and we don't have to hear about any unlawful killings in the news.

The last time a police man shot a person he was dicplied and almost sacked. Tazers are always better

They are weapons, but I'm obviously referring to firearms as that is what I've been talking about the whole time. The taser wasn't effective at all, if you take a look at the video here https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-35018789.

It took the assailant down. Therefore it was effective.
