Hotwiring a vehicle. - Doodleh - Aug 3, 2015

Suggestion for <in-game/forum/teamspeak etc.> Ingame

In detail, explain your suggestion:
After you lockpick a car, you should hotwire it aswell to start it (if the owner turned the engine off in the first place). Hotwiring has a small chance of failing or triggering a car alarm.

Why should this be implemented?

- Stealing vehicles will become a little more of a hassle than it used to be.
- Adding this will make it a bit more realistic when you are stealing cars.
- Gives car owners a reason to turn their engine off. Because currently, no one does that.
- Currently you have a 100% chance of stealing a car. With this system there will be a chance of failure. If the owner turned his engine off, the criminal would have a small chance of it failing, triggering the car alarm.

+Support, I like this idea, it's like an extra layer of security and gives a good reason for people to turn their engines off.

Plus, people would have a proper car alarm to go off.
So will the lock pick set off the alarm? or just have a small chance, like the hot wire?

Lockpicking and hotwiring both should have a chance of setting it off.

+Support, it was far too easy to steal cars.

Re: Hotwiring a vehicle. - Doodleh - Aug 3, 2015

If this gets implemented, there should also be a gain for stealing cars. Like scrap metal and such.

Chance at getting Electrical Wiring or something along those lines, possible chance at setting the car alarm off or even a chance at being electrocuted and losing some HP.

Reallistically, hotwiring a car won't cause you power loss, since you're just messing with the starter motor.
