Not every chase has to end up with them in jail. You can give tickets and earn a little bit of extra income.

This is how ALL of my traffic stops go down. Unless you pull a gun or continue to evade me I will mostly give out tickets.

Well, I'm all for doing "calmer" police RP and conducting traffic stops, but if someone tries to evade the police that's a very serious crime and the suspect should be arrested. I get where you're coming from, and I love finding other solutions than arresting someone, but this is not one of those situations to me.
Can't say I see anyone arresting for a general speeding offence, and if they are it's a bit of a fail. However nice video

That's not what I'm saying. Speeding is just a misdemeanor and a ticket would be enough, but if the officer turns on his lights and signals the vehicle to stop, but it instead speeds up and takes off, it is a felony and the driver should be arrested.
Burnett couldn't have chosen a worse time to try and evade police as my SWAT squad was returning from a call.

To reply to your comment Dryblood:

Stopping for Police will almost always result in a fine.
Failing to stop for Police, attempting to evade and driving dangerously will lead a jail-sentence.

Yeah, my comment was aimed at general speed offence with a simple pull over.

If the pursuit went on any longer then it did I would have arrested him.

You're too soft on the criminal scum.
Maybe you're just in it for the bribes tickets, but some of us are here to deliver sweet justice.

im in it for the roleplay, arresting is boring.
If someone runs, it's an automatic felony charge. Plus tack on all the speeding and running stop signs and red lights and endangering the public and reckless driving, slap 'em with a nice jail sentence and impound their car.

If they pull over after running and surrender, drop some charges.

If they pull over immediately and are assholes, fine 'em to the moon.

If they pull over immediately, are nice and polite, and it wasn't a big deal- Verbal warning, have a nice day.
I got pulled over once. I stopped right away and the officer was so confused, he gave me a muttered warning and drove off.

If you are just a citizen, you really should abide by the laws, including pulling to the side for emergency vehicles that have their lights and sirens off.
While i support the idea of more detailed/adjusted punishments (adding detaile info to a warrant to specify jail times, issuing simple warnings and probably smalle citazions i strongly disagree on seeing fines as "a little extra income" !
If some cop who needs a minute to catch up to me (during normal speeds not a pursuit nor lights on) tries to pull me over (after crashing into every second lightpole or streetsign he eventually succeded a few blocks further) and then tries to fine me for speeding (which according to my spedometer couldnt have happend/must have been within - or + 1 or 2 mph max) i find it kinda annoying to reward him by letting him squeze my pockets according to his beliefs. Exspecialy if he needed to catch up to me on code 3 for a normal traffic stop, switching lanes multiple times...
(i honestly forgot the name of the officer - just using it as an example where the pure motivation to earn some extra cash ends up with an officer posing a way greater threat to traffic than the actuall suspect - as a bad example for profit orientated patrols)
I think that fines are a good idea to adjust punishments in smaller traffic/or basic violations however there is a difference between issuing an adjusted/propper punishment, and patroling in order to make money. Fines are legit anda propper measure to enforce laws but if an officer (acting as a straight/regular officer/not corrupt) beliefs it is nescessary to fine or jail citizens fro trespassing in the city tunnel i beleif some people should probably look for alternatives. Personaly i hadnt had to issue fines in a longer time: felony offenses like this pursuit for eg. are a propper reason for an arrest (multiple traffic laws were violated, peoples lifes were putto risks, while smaller offenses were usually just good with a warnign or dismissial froma certain area and arrest or fines after repetitive incidents.
