There are a lot of similar posts on the forums, and in the bug report section, so this thread is a list of does and don'ts for reporting bugs.
DO
- Check the changelogs to see if your issue has already been fixed.
A number of times, fixes have already been pushed, but we're waiting for the server to restart.
DO NOT
- Make a new thread if a similar topic has already been posted.
There are a number of threads about connection issues, model and materials errors. If your issue isn't exactly the same, but similar, please use the same thread. This helps us keep the amounts of non-essential threads to a minimum.
DO NOT
- Post if there has been a Garry's Mod update ("The server is running a newer/older version of the game").
The staff and development teams catch up on updates quite rapidly, so endless posts about it in help and support / bug reports is not necessary. If you absolutely feel there has been a totally overlooked update, contact us via steam or the forums.
DO NOT
- Bump or message developers on steam about your bug report.
We see your bug reports, and we do fix them. Sometimes we're busy, on leave or doing other things. Messaging us does not make them get fixed faster.
This post will be updated as we discover more things that belong in here, so please check the title for LAST POST every time you post, so are sure you know when to not post.
