An EgyptAir plane has been hijacked en route to Cairo and has landed at Larnaca airport in Cyprus.

What we know up to this point:

1. Plane took off from Alexandria but diverted to Cyprus
   
2. Dozens of passengers freed -- but seven people still on board
   
3. Egypt says hijacker is Egyptian national Seif El Din Mustafa
   
4. Egypt treating reports that hijacker has explosive belt seriously
   
5. Cyprus says suspect hijacked plane over ex-wife
   
6. Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades said the hijacking was not related to "terrorism."
   
7. The remaining people left the plane about six hours after it landed and the hijacker was arrested.
   
   
   

Officials are still negotiating.

It is also said, this could be a inside job as it is questioned how he may have gotten his explosives on the plane.(Explosives have not been confirmed but the man has been photographed wearing a weird belt with wires.)

Update: According to Cyprus MFA twitter account: "Its over. The #hijacker arrested. #LarnacaAirport  #Egyptair"

As far as I know the photo was made public minutes before he got arrested.

Yeah, it's everywhere. One of the passengers even got his picture taken with the hijacker:
