In-game economy.

I am not a very economic person, as I am not a capitalist. But I still studied two courses of economics so I have some knowledge.

We talk about in-game economy and how is it affected by certain stuff like contraband and money packs. Where does this money come from? Contraband is faked money put into circulation that will affect inflation (decreases the value of money), drug labs are basically you making drugs that you sell and get money from drug addicts. Money packs could be government reserve gold that it sells, you buy the gold with your own currency and get the amount of money that it is valued in the server. Woodcutting is not considered "magic money" as it is sold to the npc what represents a wood company buying wood.

What is the amount of money in circulation? Infinite or controlled? In modern world we have already passed over our actual ownings, money is basically ones and zeros in banking system, there is actually more money than we really have. This has happened on the server, but we don't have inflation or deflation.

This is not a suggestion, this is a discussion. Should we have inflation and deflation on the server that making contraband will affect the economy. Example: People start doing contraband and the fake money gets in use and Inflation growths. When it growths, salaries would grow up same as would certain prices grow up, like wood would need twice the amount for same sum that you got the other day. When Inflation growths, president would have to make changes to fight the inflation. 

In case of deflation, I haven't yet figured out how could it work out in this environment. So I'll add this part later on.

I know someone will say "How are we to make money? What about the money that is already made with contra?" and wonder how we would keep people interested when there is high inflation. Yeah it would suck to have a high inflation (A Trabant would cost 100k instead of 15k, but your salary would be bigger than 50$), but the Inflation would be working only if there was a president: "Well what is the point in this then?".

We are still here talking about economy. We could make something that would control and make the economy realistic.
I made this thread for discussion, my example of Inflation was the one of the way to do something about it.

We are the community, we are the onces who play and suggest new stuff.
