Evocity Ambulance Service is the primary NHS trust ambulance service in Evocity. It provides ambulance care services, as well as patient transport services, HART services, and other specialist medical services. It currently operates out of one ambulance station in the Industrial district of Evocity, and hopes in the future to expand this to include a bigger/multiple ambulance station(s) and an air ambulance.
Structure
The EAS is structured into several ambulance stations, managed by a Duty Station Officer (DSO), into teams, each led by a Paramedic Team Leader (AP2/PTL), and then into crews which is usually a 2-man team manning an ambulance, however they can be bigger depending on role.
Divisions
There are several divisions, these are:
- Hazardous Area Response Team (HART)
Specialist medical personnel who respond to special operations incidents and potentially hazardous incidents, they wear advanced PPE and utilize specialist equipment such as fireproof uniforms, self-contained breathing apparatus and climbing equipment.
- Patient Transport Service
PTS is a non-emergency unit responsible for transporting patients between hospitals, and to appointments, etc. PTS staff are usually civillians with first-aid training, however sometimes PTS can be staffed by off-duty trained medical personnel.
- Training Unit
Training Unit is responsible for training of all medical and civillian staff.
- Professional Standards
Professional Standards are responsible for all internal affairs matters.
