The add-on uses the Alert system, meaning you won't get a notification for something you wouldn't get an Alert for, in this case tagging yourself.

Let's try it like this  Big Grin

Not enabled for mentions or..?

Tested it with Bambo by getting him to send me a PM and it worked, however didn't receive the mention alert.
