Legit.
We've had haze for about two solid months to a point where you had to make an effort to try and find the sun.
It was worse in KL where you couldn't see 10m in front of you.
When a PSI (Pollution Standards Index) reaches 200, that's bad. 300 and evacuations should theoretically occur. Areas of Indonesia were reaching 750. Seven hundred and feckin' fifty.

And all this because of corrupt politicans and the underhand dealings between them and palm oil companies.
Company pays village man -> village man burns down forest -> "I didn't know better" BS in court, not guilty -> Company appeals to govt about 'wasted space' -> profit

Though sadly - and this is Cynical Safira - things won't change. Humans will always choose the easy option over what's right. "Why buy old furniture and spruce it up when I can buy a brand new one from Ikea?" "I could recycle these cans, but the Recycling Depot is 5 miles away whereas the Refuse men come right up to my door."
Yay humans!

Wow that's deep. However it is very true.
This is really true, yet our governments do nothing. Loads of politicians don't show up to environment summits, yet if it's a  weapon summit everyone turns up. The East Asian countries are a joke with how they deal with pollution, the UN should do something about it and every country should be forced to follow certain guidelines, if they don't economic sanctions should be enforced. Thats the main reason this pollution is happening because of manufacturing, if you ban them from trading (if they don't follow the environmental guidelines) their economy will turn to **** and they will follow the guidelines. Sadly China is on the UN Security Council and they will probaly Veto this proposition.
This is why you should only buy the certified sustainable sources paper.
This is why you should recycle.
This is why you should turn off that light when you leave the room.
Only buy from sustainable sources. IKEA is a perfect example of a company that is sustainable. One of the few companies that does things right.
