What type of wood are we talking about here?.... Not that wood you perv i meant hard or soft
I much prefer this to contraband, and a mining system would be very cool!
Some problems I've seen with this system (with a low user base at least).
Players don't care about the RP anymore, and all join around the forest farming.
This issue can be solved, if you guys add a job "Lumberjack" to this type of farming, in an attemp to avoid abuse and limit the players that can farm at a time, in a way that others still RP. Also this job shouldn't be able to spawn contraband and have no payday (since it gets enough Money from the wood alone).
Few people also sugested decreasing the value of the reward, I disagree entirely, if you decrease the reward value, people will simply go back to contrawhoring.
I feel like I'm playing Clicker Heroes when I'm wood cutting.
I really like this new system I find it enjoyable for some reason, great job!

Gave it a try, love it. What I could see being a problem however is the server population and woodcutting. This morning around 11 there were 15 players on V33. The lake trees were swarmed already. With a population of let's say 50 people it would probably become so crowded that there wouldn't be space left to hit a tree.
Having a mining possibility which works exactly the same could even out the miners/woodcutters, so neither of those are overrun by players.

Killing your wood in flannel shirts.
Woodcutting gives to much money. You should make one/both of this:
1 - Lower the reward to around 20/25$ each.
2 - Make a job for Lumberjack for a maximum of 5/6 players.
3 - Do something to avoid the amount of auto clickers.
This is just too easy to make cash, and now the servers are boring because 9 in 10 people are cutting trees. Noone Roleplay anything, in my opinion this needs a BIG NERF else people will just cut wood 24/7.

That's only because its a new thing. Give it time and see what happens.
I'm not too concerned about the amount of money players are getting. It's nothing in comparison to, say, moneypacks, or even to the current players who sell donator status. Even meth earns far more. The main thing is that this is more social than contraband and has greater scope for RP, though I haven't seen a massive amount yet. However, as with all new updates, players always gravitate to them. I remember back when I released the weapons update everyone was telling me it'd make things too aggressive; this was the case for 3-4 days, then the balance resumed. We'll just have to wait and see.
Furthermore, there are a lot of RP possibilities with this, which I think players might gravitate to once they've earned enough money to be satisfied with their bank account. A President could implement conservation laws; a good police team could run checks on illegal loggers without licenses; the mafia could use logging as a front to transport contraband between logs in vans; a media crew could use the new cinematic cameras to do reports on rampant deforestation in EvoCity; a player accidentally hit with an axe could be in need of medical care and as such a medical emergency RP begins; a forest fire could begin. There's a lot of potential RP here, once people get over the initial shock of a new way to passively earn money and get their money.
