Ammunition Crafting

After ten years of waiting, we're bringing back your craftable ammunition.
Eight brand-new schematic mixtures are now available on the market.

9x19 Parabellum, FN 5.7x28mm, .44 Magnum, 45 ACP, 5.56x45mm NATO, 7.62x51mm NATO, 12 Gauge Buckshot and... .338 Lapua Magnum. Each Schematic costs $15,000, similar to the Tranquillizer Darts and can be crafted out of combinations of Black Powder and Iron to make the best ammunition around town, especially for those who dedicate their time to the crafting business. Who knows what is possible?

On a smaller note: (ha get it, smaller note)
Police Chiefs can now manage passes when there is no city administration (including: President, Vice President and Governmental Secretaries).

Mining was a tiny step as mentioned before, with the beautiful dev and contrib team everything will be more linked and build towards something better.

I am against this update, you're turning this server into a crafting simulation. Why not just make weapons craftable?

Everyone can make their weapons and then the gun dealer can get removed and gun store RP's will be pointless if everyone can craft their ammo and weapons. 

Sure, it is only ammo which is craftable but you're taking away RP's stuff from jobs like the Gun dealer, this is meant to be a semi-serious Roleplay server and you're putting stuff behind craftable walls, you want to craft ammo, you need to either spend a lot of money on metal or spend time or hours collecting it yourself.  

This will turn new players from wanting to play on CityRP If stuff is always craftable, I have played on the Serouis RP server where stuff is craftable. You would expect something like this to be on them type of server, not a semi-serious Roleplay server. 

If you put more and more behind craftable walls, you will kill this community and prevent it from growing and attracting new players.

No one is gonna spend $120,000 on eight mixtures to then spend even more money on buying materials to make the ammo unless it is considerably cheaper at which point. People will still rather craft ammo if it can save 50-80% of the cost of ammo. Then, buy it from a gun-dealer which will be selling it at a higher price to make a profit.

Because let's use 5.56X, which Is $2,000 if I recall correctly if it costs $1,000 - $1,500, people would rather make the ammo themselves than buy it from a dealer to save a lot of money over their lifetime on the server. Making Gun dealers less incentive to roleplay as that job.

Me personally I'm just glad so many updates and new content are being implemented to the server, and also to think of the countless hours and efforts that are spent into each one.

You have to keep in mind that this is also part of the mining update which is said to be expanded and Ammo update is part of it aswell.
For those who enjoy mining also get access to crafting this, for those who doesn't enjoy it goes to a gundealer, pretty simple.
I don't have the patience to mine so I rather just buy it from a gundealer even if it's more expensive.  Grin

Tbh I can't be arsed with crafting. I would probably pay the convenience premium and buy it from a GD. As would anyone who needs ammo in bulk. 

Similar to people who hand load their ammo in real life even though they could just buy it. 

Otherwise, looks like a good update!

What is the point of point of chefs when we had fishing, vending machines and the KFC drive through?
The point of mining when we had car crashes to give metals?
The point of wood cutting when we had many systems for making money?
The point of weed with contraband, or the point of meth with both?

At the end of the day, it's giving our players options. You want to get your smelting and crafting done, no longer being reliant on gun dealers? That's your choice. You and your clan set up mass-smelting arrays and production line ammo? That's your choice. Or just pay people, dealers or not, for their ammo? Again, your choice.

And is that not what RP in general is about? Giving people choices and freedom? Plenty of people don't want to spend the time crafting ammo, so they'll still go to dealers.

Though, I will say, if we want to worry about Gun Dealer RPs being effected, perhaps we should look towards the marketplace.



Thank you Dick, your hard work has again brought us a poggers update. It's been on the cards since like 2016/7 or something, so it's nice to see it back in.
