Hello Community,

the long awaited Cooking Update, Skill and Meska v2 will arrive this Saturday along with the play session!

In the past, only chefs were able to manufacture food and all other classes had to rely on their availibility,
unless they went out to the lake to fish some of the many fishes that are in there.

With this update we introduce a more open change of CityRP 2's food eco-system.

From now on, all classes can craft food items by using a cooking stove and ingredients.
You can select from over 30+ level-locked and pre-defined receipes that you can cook.

The higher your cooking level, the better food you can cook and sell/use in a roleplay situation.
There are also some food items that bear special abilities (also called superfood), that allow you to sprint longer.

Such as with the Fishing Skill, you can work towards reaching a Cooking Skill up to level 50.

The Cooking Skill also ties in hand-in-hand with the Fishing Skill.
All fish that you have caught off the lake is considered "raw fish".
You can now cook that raw fish to increase its stats.

Electric Stove & Battery:

The cooking stove (also called Electric Stove) runs on batteries and consumes power.
Each receipe will consume power during a cooking session and you can restore that power by charging the stove with a battery.
The stove is also sensitive to damage and can be destroyed when it takes too much damage.

There is a queue limit for the amount of receipes that you can cook:

Normal user: 6 receipes at a time
Membership: 9 receipes at a time

Food Items & Ingredients:

Over 30+ new food items can be cooked.

Over 17+ ingredients are available.

Cooking Skill:
Each cooking session will earn you exp which will increase your level over time.
The higher your level gets, the better food you will be able to cook.
The maximum level is set to 50 which gives plenty of room for that skill.

While working on your skill, you will earn new achievements.

Core Changes:
- The "Chef" class is no longer available.
- You can now buy the chef outfits from the market (Clothing)
- Existing and new caught fish is now labeled "raw fish" and its stats got reduced.
- You can cook raw fish to increase its stats.
- All existing old food items can no longer be manufactured from the market (except for beverages)
- All classes can manufacture ingredients, beverages, fishing rods, fishing bait/lure/hooks, etc.
- New market/inventory categories "Crafting & Production" and "Food Ingredients"

Motivation:
Our ex-contributor Luvbunny proposed the idea of a cooking stove/skill to us and he even provided the code.
We then improved upon it and applied the final touches.

Cooking is a skill that everybody can learn and should therefor not be loked behind a class.
With the ability of cooking better food as the skill level increases, we allow for competition and more food/restaurant/takeaway oriented roleplays.
Who will be the chef de la cusine?

Future:
Due to the way of how Luvbunny coded this update, we can extend on it with new receipes, new levels, achievements etc.
Currently, the ingredients must be bought from the market and there is no cap on their availability.
A new skill could introduce a way for farmers to harvest and sell these ingredients to the market,
creating an even broader supply-and-demand economy.

Our Metrics/Skill/Achievements/Dailybonus library has been improved with a ton new features and fixes.
An entire skill, including metrics, achievements, perks and guides can now be set up with one file,
rather than fiddling with the database and F1 menu files.
Everything in the F1 Skill menu is generated dynamically from the skills that exist.
This gives integrators/contributors a more centralized and straight-forward way of setting up a new skill.

We also developed a small frontend toolchain for designing the Meska Skill Guides that you see in the F1 menu.
Rather than creating them in Photoshop they are now fully dynamically generated HTML elements.
This gives us more freedom when testing/developing new guide templates.

I didn’t only propose it, i basically wrote it entirely, with moddeling help of Markus. Itd be great if ir could be described as such!

Welp, im kinda happy it made it to the server tho, i tought it died.

It says multiple times that you suggested and coded it, for which we’re incredibly grateful.
It was an honor to work alongside you ‍. A truly great developer with a lot of skill.
