I was wondering where my crowning achievements had gone when I was browsing the bans the other day.
I've voted for Southside in the F1 menu but I'm starting to have second doubts about that due to the crashes people mentioned on Southside, not to mention the lack of free building space some might enjoy more than I do.
I don't personally mind a crash a day or 2 but I can see the server coming up with little less players each time the server crashes during a day. Not to mention the lack of free building space other than decorating buildings and building by the docks or over the sea.
Evocity_v4b1 has some nice free building space in it which provides people with creativity more freedom for role play. There's little for everyone in evocity, however it's an outdated map in terms of looks and features.
My biggest personal downside in evocity_v4b1 is how flat the map is. For example rockford has this nice ravine in which you could build nice caverns, houses floating over the ravine with nice supports or bridges etc. Rockford has everything, detached houses, industrial that's not detached from the city (I like that personally, makes it more alive). It also has loads of space that's not close to everything unlike in evocity where it's impossible to hide when needed. For example for some kind of secretive cult rp or maniac role play for example. There's only really the little village in evocity_v4b1 to stay out of sight.
However, in Southside there were these nice alleyways, densely built flats, the sewers etc. It had really nice opportunities for all sorts of criminal role play and I'm not talking about the aggressive kind only. Someone kidnapped me and few others and brought us to the sewers only to torture us with his sawblades and make us suffer until we die of pain. It was all hidden, in a dark room in the sewers, out of sight. However, the same person built numerous dupes related to similar maniac torture situations in evocity_v4b1 that were also working ones but didn't quite have the athmosphere of the dark sewers with the ambient sounds.
In my opinion the best map would be Southside that was edited in a way that some buildings were deleted for example leaving room for more creativity. In addition removing furniture or the sign from some shops should be done too. Although, things like that take time, not to mention finding someone willing to do that. The crashing problem with the map still remains so scratch that.

- Crashes often or so I've heard from multiple people, thus empties the server.
- Has little to no space for creativity: Most shops and buildings are full of props and furniture and there's little to no free space for building actual buildings from scratch.
- Other than that, a very detailed map and well thought out map which is why I'd personally prefer this but my understanding is that the above reasons are too big obstacles for some people
- Decently detailed map with some of everything for everyone.
- I especially like the structure of the map. It's kind of like there's these disctricts next to each other. The upper area with the flat and the gas station, downtown, industrial right next to it. All this surrounded with a road with enough access roads to the middle. It doesn't stop in the city so the countryside is a nice area also to play in, especially if you're a builder!
- There's the ravine and the cliff area by the sea. Both very unique and nice places to build more exotic dupes (eg. caverns in the ravine for some cult rp)
- A big map structured in a way that it's easy to get lost in the map with the current player base. Perhaps with 40+ players it would be a working map.
- The classic everyone knows and is familiar with and has access to their old dupes
- Old map and it shows in the visuals especially and the map is very flat. There's no ravine like on Rockford and the lake is a boring tiny one with nothing exciting around it, just small houses that all look the same. I'd prefer free building space any time over those buildings as they're so ugly I cant be asked to rp in those.
- Industrial is one of the areas I actually do like, it's decently detailed and the buildings indoors are empty so there's loads of opportunity for the most creative. Shame no one ever builds anything other than contra bases there, well mostly.
- Lacks the detail of Southside: The roofs are really nice for assassinations and other criminal role plays and escaping since the roofs are connected to each other nicely with the narrow alleyways below but Evocity has nothing like that.
- All in all the map is outdated in terms of looks and features but it's not bad. If this is the cost we have to settle for to revive the server, I'm okay with that.
