EDIT: Just a thought, why not arrange some sort of "reboot", try and get as many veteran players and staff online regularly and see if we can give Limelight that spark.

Nothing has changed from the time which all the veterans left and now. Since nothing has changed, a "reboot", is destined to fail as the veteran players are just coming back to the same, boring sh*t they left behind.

If LL is going to do a large outreach to its once core playerbase, the servers need to be revamped entirely with fresh, new content. Dramatic change needs to happen so if those old players return, they stay.

Nah bro the gamemode feels completely different now than when I left. Everything is different.
hopefully some light at the end of the tunnel Smile
Imagine complaining about LimeLight not giving any details on what they are doing and when they do you just shit on the thread.
:THONKING:

I wish I could be there but I will be at work.

I believe it's perfectly understandable for the community to have a "It's about time" or "Too little too late" reaction at this point. There is a wide gap between the players and the staff team right now and one post and subsequent community meeting is only the first step in bridging this gap.

If LL is going to make a comeback, the staff team has a long road ahead of them in regaining the community's trust that they will do what's best for the server. I can certainly say that they have lost my trust and it will take more than a few updates to regain it.

The advice I will give to the team now is to "find your voice". The team has lacked strong leadership for years now and the community has suffered as a result. A strong leader is someone with the will, charisma, drive, and vision for change. A strong leader is someone who will be the humble voice to unite everyone under a common goal and be the one to guide those who choose to share that same vision to the finish line. A leader is what LL needs right now to bring everyone together to work towards a brighter future - one step at a time.

LL can be something great. What you need to start asking yourselves is "What does greatless look like?" and "How do we get there?".
Worked out I'm at work (as usual) so I won't be able to come after all which is a shame.

I'll make my point here. When LL started the team was very different, using myself as an example when it started I was 16, I turn 22 next week, at 16 I was at college with little else to occupy me except for LL. Now I'm working on a degree as well as working and finding time for a relationship, friends and family. Much of the team and community past and present are in the same boat.

If we think about it like this, after we split from FL 5 years ago today (happy anniversary lol) we took a lot of the players and staff with us who were loyal. gradually our playerbase has diminished and struggled purely due to a lack of renewment of the playerbase which has gotten younger and less experienced. sorry guys but when I was a player back in 2013/14 RP was the main thing happening. When I popped on a few months back and indeed before I resigned it may as well have been cops and robbers with a bit of money making in between.

The problem has gotten to such a point LL is on life support. trust me I know from an inside perspective the finances it takes to run this.

honestly i could write a whole damn report on this, I doubt the staff will take me up on it but my degree is literally in how not to fuck up a business and miss manage it so I'll happily chat to them if they want.

what's my solution? Transition into a gaming community and try and instead focus on the community playing other games and increasing its presence in the wider PC gaming environment. One day maybe we'll return to another game officially but I think sadly without paid management and full time staffing this was an inevitability one day.
is brittish time gmt0 or gmt 1?
Here's an idea: it's not (just) content, it's not (just) nobody wanting to play aynmore, it's that we aren't marketing ourselves.

We aren't going out there and bringing in new players. That used to happen naturally, it doesn't anymore so we need to step up to the plate and bring in new people to the community. Fuck, it doesn't take a genius to see that all the once-regular players are too old now to devote a lot of time to the server. Just in this thread you've got guys like me who're going off to uni soon, you got guys that are joining the military, etc etc.

It's time to reach outwith the community, market ourselves and bring in new players.

We're one hour ahead, Marsh.
I've decided to login to this site after a long time because i was having a nostalgia moment and I am glad i did, I will attend this meeting because i honestly miss the community of LL, it is good to still see some familiar faces in the forums!
We've got the multi-track downloaded, and we're at the first hour of editing complete. Hopefully should be done by Friday, but it's a slog D:

Speaking for myself i would return and perphaps majory would return but not in Gmod anymore , its a old game , LL if wants to survive needs a new game , it could work well in Arma 3 , Rust , Dayz , or games that allow custom mods and have a open map , besides that i dont see much future in garrys mod anymore.
