Why should you be unblacklisted?

I think I should be unblacklisted because the admin didn't give me a fair say in the sit.
Let me recount the situation:
Someone had spontaneously and without any valid reason insult me using a phonebox, which made the  message anonymous. Of course, I couldn't retaliate to the message using /pm since the message had no sender, so I instead insulted them back in OOC (Not being targeted at anyone in particular). The admin  came along and blacklisted me after a sit in which he calls me unco-operative, when in actual fact I was just trying to justify my actions.

I do not dispute the blacklist, since it was valid, but what I do dispute is that the admin in question did not give a warning (since, if I recall, this was the first time I had
been flagged with issues over OOC) and instead punished me straight away, and also that he completely ignored the fact that this person had insulted me for no reason and classed it as "in-character", for what I personally think in this case was an excuse for "I can't be asked to deal with it.". He never questioned why the person had insulted me over a phonebooth message and the reasoning behind it, and he instead punished me for retaliation. Which, I'll be truthful, is a pile of bull shit.
I'll admit; I was being unco-operative, but that's only because he wouldn't listen to my side of the story in the first place.
And sorry if you are a she, I just automatically use the "he" pronoun when talking about someone I don't know. It's easier for me.

Evidence: None.

I'm just pissed off. I 'aint this aggrevated usually, trust me.
The staff-members have received your unblacklist-request, Thermoscope.

It will take a while for it to be reviewed.
Good morning,

While I would agree that a new player like yourself would receive a permanent warning over what would have been such a minor rule breakage, you're missing out a lot of the other pointers and your general attitude throughout the day. Not only that, but you also have more than 20 hours in our community. I don't think it's completely out of line for me to think you've had the time to at least have read some of our rules already by now.

Anyways, some examples of context that you left out would be that I blacklisted you earlier that day from your PTE (Physgun, Toolgun and Entities)-access as you were building floating elevators.
When confronted, you had an unwanted attitude with me during the @-sit and kept punching around even when I told you to stop and treat it a bit more seriously. You were pushing to have the @-sit stopped so you could help the player who just rolled up on your contraption so you could service him, too, but that was minor in my opinion. I told you to read the rules when I released you.

Over the day, this played out:

Quote:said "/advert ZaidPlays move your car from my building or your car will be clamped. You got 5 minutes to move it."
said "/ooc It's an advert not OOC"
Thermoscope (STEAM_0:1:110137590) said "/ooc Oh for crying out loud"
said "/advert Shitbag move your car from my building or your car will be clamped. You got 5 minutes to move it."
said "/ooc Happy now?"
said "/advert Baron Richfuck you got 4 minutes"
said "/advert Dipshit you got 3 minutes to move it"
said "/advert Thank you dipstick"

Quote:said "/pm Slow You know what? No! I'm not getting repairs from a lazy-ass like yourself. Expect to explain your laziness in an admin sit"

Quote:said "/ooc No, the mechanic that is on is AFK and the admins are too lazy to do shit about it"

Quote:said "/ooc I'm not a mechanic dipstick"

Quote:said "/ooc Very mature dipshit"

Quote:said "/ooc If you're going to insult me do it in OOC you scared cunt"

Quote:said "/ooc That's what I thought, pussy"

And this isn't including the attitude you had in the @-sit when I finally pulled you aside.

I did listen to your side of the story and I understood that the phonebooth call might've been a bit out of place, however, I told you to make an @-call about it instead of insulting someone on the GOOC. When you started having attitude with me during the @-sit when I was trying to explain to you that your response wasn't in good with our rules, I figured you needed some time to cool off and also slapped an additional punishment regarding OOC usage on you.

In my opinion, the punishment issued to you (looking at your priors and your attitude over GOOC and both @-sits), is valid. You even said so yourself in your OP. The punishments are a mere addition to your record so other staff members who might deal with you in the (near) future, understand what has happened previously.

If you don't have any further statements to make or additional evidence to add to your appeal, I'll have a supervising staff member evaluate and conclude the report.
I have no further statements to add.
I will admit, when I get annoyed I do tend to lash out at others. Impulsive, shall we say.
Sorry for wasting your time.

And that's what I felt like when reading back on the logs and then seeing your evidence statement

You're not wasting my or anyone else's time here. I'd rather have you contact us if you have the feeling someone is trying to instigate a fight with you other than for in-character reasons, than you taking it onto yourself to throw insults back in an out-of-character fashion. Use @-call so we can actually do something instead of having to act on what we see on the surface.

I'll resend the request to evaluate and conclude as you stated you have nothing further to add. In the meantime, just go over our rules again and keep that thing I said about making @-calls in the back of your head whenever you feel like you're getting angry at someone out-of-characterly.

Thanks,

Wesley
Hi there ThermoScope,

I've been asked by Wesley to review and conclude this unblacklist request, and I've come to a conclusion.

After seeing the log excerpts provided by Wesley in his post, I'm satisfied that the blacklist has merit and will stand as issued. As Wesley rightly said, please contact us if you feel a situation is getting too much and people are trying to instigate something. Everyone gets angry, but please learn to better control it.

Cheers,
