Well, this day turned out to be something I wasn't expecting..
Anywhoo, as I said in my post on the first thread:
Quote:You're discussing a case you were not involved with, and where you don't sit on all the facts. As I see it, you're targeting Internet here for some reason. You're being too specific in your discussion, and you should rather highlight differences between staff-members and players in cases instead. Focusing/targeting one specific staff-member will just throw the thread into shit as you're making it personal about that one staff member instead of highlighting something that could actually be an issue instead. The case you're quoting has been reviewed and concluded.
You were trying to start a discussion around a case that had been reviewed and concluded. It was handled. The discussion quickly got out of hand and it was ended fairly. To put it bluntly, it was an unconstructive hemorrhoid of a thread that spun right of control and served no real purpose other than to stir up drama.
Temar replied to the second thread with the following post:

basically yes for staff rule breakage will be different as they are staff warning and punishments and possibly eventual demotion if needed. this is all handled specifically by HR
what happens will be very dependant on the case and what happened and will be up to HR to decide
but in no way do they just get away with it.
This serves as a fair and valid answer to the question you raised. There's not much else to say about that subject.
There are different punishments for players and staff. This has always been a thing and will continue to be a thing. That's just how I have decided to act as SAHR. Staff will get in trouble for things players wouldn't, and staff will be punished in a different way than a player would. Staff and players are completely different groups by nature, and they have different "guidelines" to follow. They're still expected to follow the same rules ingame, and will be punished when they break ingame rules, but not necessarily with a ban or blacklist as a player would. That's at HRs discretion.
I track punishments given and misconduct carried out by staff, and they're always under a microscope. They don't get away with stupid shit as you might suspect.
Internet has replied to this thread with the following:
(Dec 3, 2018, 08:28 PM)Doctor Internet Wrote: [ -> ]Kurd created the first thread.
During that thread, certain elements began harassing ex-staff members.
The first thread was closed.
Kurd created a second thread.
The second thread was closed.
You created a third thread.
Two threads before this, on the exact same subject had been closed.
You breached rule GEN.11, "Listen to the decisions of administrative staff; they aren't negotiable."
The third thread was closed.
Doing my job and enforcing the rules is not abuse.
Again, this serves as a fair and valid answer to the case you're now trying to raise, and there's not much else to add here either.
Yeah, we wish to have a platform where people can discuss freely and maturely and we respect freedom of speech, but this is taking place on our forum in our community, and it's our right to draw the lines where we see fit. The three threads in question have not served any real purpose, nor have they contributed with anything. If you continue to make the same thread after we've put our foot down, then you can expect us to close them and slap on a warning for gen rule 1.1 as Internet pointed out.
This might not be fair in your eyes, but that's how we view it best to keep things calm. We're not trying to hide anything or silence anyone, but unnecessary drama and targeting of a staff-member by linking a thread I've reviewed myself will make us have to step in.
I'm ending this case here.
Reviewed and concluded, no abuse noted.
There have been valid reasons for closing down the threads, and there's no abuse of authority or power that's taken place.
There's no need to turn yourself into a martyr by ultimately earning yourself a forum-ban. Just accept the fact that we feel that the threads made are not of the constructive nature that we feel is something that we need to have on our forum. You're free to make that thread on a different forum, but not ours.
Have a nice evening, chaps.
