I was reading a post on another community's forum talking about contraband and apparently contraband was brining $3mill into the servers economy everyday, so I think it got nerfed or something.
I'm really interested in the fact that do we have tools to monitor our in game our economy?
Do you think we should?
Is it important to monitor the economy and make sure the inflation rates are reasonable etc...?
That is actually a good point.
The economy is too compact imo, in a real world situation would have billions and every one else would barely be worth $500,000

Yeah it should be hard to get rich.
It took me like 5days of contra to get a DB5
There was once a time where 100k was alot, and earning enough to invest in a tides truck was quite an accomplishment and a fairly large decision on what to do with your money.
Now, in an hour you can have 100k with money to spare, literaly toss it in a fire, and then an hour later you'l have more than 100k to repeat the process.
I miss those days

The days when people were somewhat scared of losing their weapons, so they used cheaper ones. The USP .45 was actually a formidable weapon.
Money should be a goal like it was used to, you saved for a car now you contrafarm for 1 hour and buy the car. The ease and low risk in making money made the money and item goals invisible. I remember back when people asked if remote door keys were worth the money, now they just buy it to have in their inventory because they can.
Before the quest was earning money and getting reps, now just REPs that leave players with little to no goals besides REPs
Yeah, money is too easy to get now. You can sit and hide away and make a lot of money. Buy an expensive car, repeat the process within an hour or so.
meh tbh the eco is kinda fucked but im rich af and tight af like i dont want to spend a dime unless i have too, i try to save cash innit instead of wastin on pointless shit people need to set goals for them self instead of gettin 700k on the dot and then buyin a tesla brand new and thinkin shit i have no money lets do some contra and get back up to 700k etc in like 2 days, i think contra shouldnt be nerfed as in make it give less money out, instead the sound should be louder and a constant noise but to counter that there should be an entity that is `Sound Proof` where the noise is quieter but that sound proof entity is expensive to buy meaning more people will be raided cus you can hear the contra.

or just revert it to the old way, it worked and the economy was GOOD back then.
To be honest the only way to fix the economy at this point would be an entire purge of both peoples wallets and inventories, and tweak all income gain systems to be lower in amount so that future earnings mean somthing, as right now all money earned, is meaningless.
For me personaly an example would be FUMUKU's Security division, we used to charge people for services, we had entire contracts written up for people to read, sign and different packages from unarmed, armed, patrols, escape routes, security systems etc.
It eventualy reached a point where we just stopped charging because the money was no longer important, there was just so much of it that anything we would have liked to earn, we had, we no longer needed to care if we lost gear in combat because anything we lost would be immediately replaced from the corporate wallet that had well over 15 million in it at any given time.
Borrowing a company car was no longer somthing that occured either, because we could either just buy people the car, or they had enough to buy whatever car we used as our company car.
Money on LL is meaningless, and while it is an RP server and the RP is what matters, the desire to earn money breeds Roleplay as you play the role that earns you the money to get you what you work for.

put me through it once, it aint that bad folks ;)
Although, BlackDog, what would you propose for people that have donated for money? They can't exactly be refunded.
Nothing, they got exactly what they paid for when they paid for it, i would hazzard a guess the vast majority of money put into the economy via moneypacks has already been spent and replaced by money from other methods.
Even if some have not, in the end they as well would need to be reset, as again, they still agreed to the ToS when they purchased the items in question, and back when the term was not Purchased by Donate, people would have zero ground to stand on when demanding refunds as a donation is just that, a donation, a willful parting of money not expecting anything in return.
It just so happens that the donations on LL did give you a little gift as a thank you, but nothing more.
Revamping the methods of making money is needed contra and weed is too overpowered. The only way to reduce the vast inflation of the economy without wiping wallets would be to create ‘money sinks’. Commonly seen in MMOs money sinks operate on the principle of slowly removing money from players. There’s a large variety of methods to do this but it takes time.
