The thing is; alot of players now vote for V5P because quite a few which are now here haven't experienced V4B1 so perhaps we could have a trial period?
V4b1 was laggy and terribly optimized for the current version of Gmod

Rockford is limited on areas to build and is not really “centered” for RP.

V5p is huge, does not loop, and does not have the capacity to hold our small playerbase.

We need to look for a fourth map. We can’t go back to one of the Evocity maps. Until then V5p is our best bet. We can’t really say it won’t work if we don’t try it. It has negatives yes, but the positives outweigh at that point. We say it’s spaced out, but we said the same thing about Rockford. And what happened? Even with 20 people it felt populated because gathered in areas most of the time.
I don't necessarily think not going on V5P due to the size of the playerbase matters, considering the server has been getting 50+ daily recently. However, in the long term I do see issues with that. Hence why I suggested v4b1.

Thought this was common knowledge by now?

This is an RP server so why should FPS be more important than RP.

I would rather have 15 FPS and loads of RP than 60 FPS with none.

Doesn't matter if you'd play at 15 FPS. It's not even just about FPS as the server stability as a whole has also increased with less crashes than if it were on v33x.

If a new player is comparing RP servers they're going to go for one that has better stability and framerate most of the time. Not saying Evocity maps should be out of the question but there are serious issues as to why we moved on from v33x in the first place.

Yeah V33X was horrible FPS wise but RP wise it was 110% better than Rockford.
Have you actually played the server recently?

Correlation does not imply causation, they're are definitely other factors at play.

Erm no if a new player joins an RP server and yeah it's a bit laggy etc...
But there are some interesting roleplay's then I may stay.
I mean the only reason why I kept on coming back in 2016 is cuz back then  did some interesting RP's with good dupes.
But now you come on, you see no shops on the streets; no one walking around. I drive around for 5mins, get bored and leave again and I know for a fact that's the case for quite a few people.
yo can we get that v5p map back please?

OT: V4B1 is working well over here, the map is really fun.

We've never had V5P lol
pls go back to evocity. Having never really been on Rockford until today, it feels so shitty. There's nobody about apart from a cop car that drives past you every so often... Like I miss being able to spawn in, be at main street on v2d or v33x with loads of people around, someone sat there blasting tunes through their mic doing a busking RP... It felt like a proper community on Evocity, and there was tonnes of player interaction. Rockford feels bare and has so limited spaces for building or attracting visitors to RPs. Not a fan personally.

Has anyone played this version of map before? Looks decent: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f...=296403366
I had experience on v5p.  It's a terrible idea.  Map is too big and yet too small at the same time.  The lake hill is complete shit with cars that work, which we already have a hill car issue on rockford where they aren't as bad.

The 33x series, v4b or whatever they call it, would be a better of the two options.

I still say the community opts to create it's own version of either, that is able to fit on the workshop.  Many people do it already, but I cannot name communities as per advert clauses of the ToS.  All we'd have to do in most cases is remove crap we don't need or that is simply taking space (IE fake buildings that you can walk all the way around).  You don't even have to put anything there, could leave the lot open for building and it would be more productive.
