Yet it didn't need to be as it was public evidence as the rule said it can stay public.

The rule says you are allowed to post it as evidence without getting punished for it. It does not say anything about it having to stay public.

Anyway, concluded. The evidence was not removed but made private. The rule does not mean the evidence has to stay public after being posted. Therefore, no abuse noted.
