Should Limelight go to Serious RP? Yes or No? Reasoning?
My Opinion(you don't have to read):
Whether there be another server that is SeriousRP, or make the one server SeriousRP, I don't care, but I think it would be good. Imo, semi-serious is kind of restrictive when it comes to how immersive you can make the gamemode. It is also quite tricky to get just right. Always making sure something isn't too difficult to use without knowledge of the job irl and making sure that it isn't too "realistic". When something gets too "realistic", you get people who complain about the server being "semi-serious", and you start to lose players.
Right now, imo, Limelight is stuck in a situation where they want to add a bunch of new content, but it would be difficult to put it into a semi-serious server. As in my situation, I have come under a lot of hate in the Sugesstion forum for -supporting really cool ideas and saying that they are "to realistic for a semi-serious server". I hate to say that myself, but that is what the server is. This also feeds into people's playing time in one session. I used to play Limelight 4-6 hours at a time, when I wasn't busy, but I enjoyed every second of it. Now, I can only play 1 and a 1/2 hours max, without getting bored out of my mind. I feel it has become this way because Limelight is stuck in that in between stage of semi-serious to serious, and I say that because Limelight could do so much more, but has to restrict how far they can go because it is too "realistic".
If Limelight decides not to go serious, then I feel a huge change needs to come to the server bringing back that semi-serious feel. Right now it isn't super realistic, but it is not semi-realistic either. It is in that in between stage which makes the gamemode feel bland and boring.
What I would do:
I would simply start development of a SeriousRP server and make everything more immersive and "realistic". Try to get it out in the summer and run it for some months or half a year and see how it does. If it starts to get all the attention from the semi-serious server, maybe just leave the SeriousRP server. During development, I would start to get an advertisement team going to try and gain more people to Limelight. There are plenty of places on Steam and other sites where you can advertise your community
