***The year is 2281, the world has been plagued by nuclear war and destruction. The world that we used to know has dissolved into a wasteland complete with death and radiation. The grand cities where men and women lived in harmony have deteriorated into something never expected. The beautiful countrysides that we once knew have been wiped away. The great architecture that we have developed has been obliterated, just like our history. No one will ever know what we did in the past, they will only know what we've become, a ravaged civilization never to become what it once was. A desolate wasteland, where radioactivity lives, and will never go away. A tomb that will engulf all humanity, unless someone takes a stand...

As of now, the skies are bland, contaminated with radioactive elements, while the water retains its impurities and remains inept of consumption. Mutants wander the barren lands, as survivors attempt to live their hazardous lives and rebuild their long, lost civilizations. You hear stories of your region prior to the Great War, where it was tranquil and prosperous. But this has changed. Fortunately enough, you were born in a vault: a secure fallout shelter built in the late 2060's by Vault-Tec Industries in order to protect humanity from a nuclear war. You are protected by this vault, stuffed away under the surface where radiation presides and mutants stroll. Your vault was labelled as Vault 16, one of the first vaults built to combat this unforgiving work of mankind. It has been opened many times, either to let survivors in, or cast crooks out. This has proven to be ineffective and dangerous, due to the constant harassment of vault dwellers by radroaches, a cockroach mutated by the radioactivity that scavenged life from the nearby lands. Problems arise due to the infestations, and disputes occur.

More problems occur when the radio communications begin to deteriorate and fade into transmissions from the surface. Some transmissions remain passive, while others are very hostile. Survivors are heard to be tormented by a man named Caesar, a ruthless marauder. Other transmissions come from military outposts of the New California Republic, or the NCR, regarding tactics against aggressive mutants, and bandits. These prove useful, as many vault dwellers now know how to protect themselves. Slowly but surely, the positive reinforcement of the NCR transmissions dissolve and are instead occupied with threats by Caesar and his followers, not to mention all the bandits. Due to this, the vault dwellers begin to panic, but are interrupted by the Overseer, the manager of the vault.

The Overseer is respected by most, but is also believed to be corrupted by some. These dwellers believe that there must be reforms to keep the peace inside the vault. On the other hand, the supporters of the Overseer believe he does his job well, and refer to him as the savior of all. The Overseer's name is Rory Moriarty, the long lost brother of Colin Moriarty, a well known saloon manager in the east. It is time for an appropriate adjustment inside the vault, and this is where you come in. Your job is to keep yourself safe inside the vault, or venture out into the wasteland to try and make a living. This is where your story begins, O' Lone Wanderer...***

Lore:

The game is set in and around a post-apocalyptic retro-futuristic western region of the United States, following the Great War between the U.S., and China as a conventional and nuclear war that occurred on October 22 - October 23, 2077, and lasted less than two hours, while causing immense damage and destruction. Before the Great War were the Resource Wars, during which the United Nations disbanded, a plague rendered the United States paranoid, and Canada was annexed. The Hoover Dam supplies free electricity and water to those who control it.

Vaults are fallout shelters developed by a corporation called Vault-Tec. They were made to protect civilization from the greatest threats, specifically, nuclear war. The people in the vaults were isolated and eventually developed and mutated. This was due to inbreeding. Later, in the 2200's, these vault dwellers became curious of what was on the surface. Some vaults were abandoned due to infectious diseases and the fact that predators (mutants) engulfed their society. This was because the curiosity of the dwellers overcame their will, and the vault doors were opened. On the other hand, some vaults remained shut, and therefore became isolated to the rest of the world. Inbreeding occurred, as well as disease. In your case, you are a citizen that lives in a vault that was only opened a few times, therefore, you are isolated from the rest of the world, and would not know what to do in a situation if you were released from the vault. Every player who is given a role in the vault must roleplay as if they were born in the vault, and have lived their entire lives there.

For all of you who've played Fallout, you have an overall advantage on players who haven't. This means you should help these players if they need help when it pertains to RP situations and lore of the Fallout universe.

Finally, I want this to be a purely serious RP event. No fooling around or you will be kicked, no matter who you are. This may be strict, and I will ask administrators to enact a "Three Warning System," this is self-explanatory.

I encourage you all to watch this video. It will supply you with the information that is needed to roleplay in a Fallout Universe.

The event will take place on a Saturday, whenever we have enough applicants. I will try to make a date suitable for most players, so be on the look out. It will run for at least three to four hours, so be prepared to stay.

The map will most likely be rp_oldworld_optim_v5, you can download this from the Steam Workshop (This is subject to change).

The event does not currently have a set date, as it depends on participation.

Remember to roleplay in world's current situation, a dystopian apocalypse. This should be self-explanatory.

You must obey these rules to partake in the event. The rules are as follows:

1. No weapons may be used unless given permission by me or the administrators.

2. Follow all the server rules and perms-laws.

3. You must follow the RP specific situation at all times.

4. Roleplay seriously.

5. Finally, have fun and be nice.

Keep in mind that FailRP, FearRP, etc. are treated as per usual as if on the other servers. Don't goof around. Thank You.

What Job do you wish to be? Why? Vault dweller, I have a very small knowledge of Fallout, so I wouldnt want to take up a slot of someone that actually cares alot and is more interested to me. Furthermore, being a dweller is interesting to me to evolve in my passiverp capibilities and just generally seems fun to me.

What Job do you wish to be? Why? NCR Sergeant. Out of all the Fallout games, New Vegas was by far my favorite. From finding Benny, to working with the NCR to take back Hoover Dam from the Legion. The New California Republic was one of my favorite factions, as out of all the civilizations starting in the wasteland, the NCR was one of the few organized, and what seemed like, one of the better representations of the US military before the bombs dropped. Although stuck in a sort of militaristic government, they still put through taxes, checkpoints, and bases of operations throughout the West Coast. Being part of that machine would be something out of a dream for me.

Backstory (A few sentences.): Growing up in The HUB, Max was fairly knowledgeable to what the NCR offered him. When he was 18, he decided to enter boot camp, even after his parents wished against it. After basic, Max was requested to join the expansion into the Nevada Wasteland, where he remains today. After a few years of the NCR setting up camp in the area, Max has run into all horrors of the wasteland, and even had a run in with a Deathclaw at the mining area long abandoned due to its infestation. Now, as the days grow longer and boiling with heat, all Max wants now is a Nuka Cola and a Nuclear Winter.

Additional Information: I need to know the date to do this as I have work on the weekends. At least 3 weeks before hand is appreciated.

When the bombs fell, he had no other option than to seek cover in the safest place he could find, Vault 16!
His previous experience as a police officer made him a perfect match as a security guard. Although the other vault dwellers considered it a step down, he saw it as the job of the future!
