Get yourself a sugar daddy Wink
become a euthanasia recipient, like me
I don't know about the UK, but military gives massive benefits when applying for civil service jobs, especially police, in the US. That's a reason why I joined the army as military police. It'll give me the law enforcement side of the military plus more along with benefits when I get out to be a civilian police officer. You just gotta make sure you can handle it if you go for the military.

I admittedly fucked up the second LT bit, and the tax bit. New Hampshire and Florida will not tax you further, just because of their state laws on income tax.

As for my numbers, they are pretty close for a (single) Nuke-certified submarine O-3 over 4, who just signed his first Nuke contract.

Base Pay (per month): About 5,000
Sub Pay: about 500
BAH, BAS: BAH varies, and can change base on where you are, but let's call it 1,500 a month including BAS
Seapay: 280
Nuke bonus COPAY: ~30,000 a year

(12 * 5000) + (12 * 500)  + 1500 (*12) + 30,000 + 280 * 12 = ~117,000.

Comes out a little short, but add in free health insurance, it comes pretty close. If you have a dependent, it goes up a lot.

Source: Retired O-5 told me the allowances, googled the rates
Going the the police or military is not for anyone.

Before joining any form of public service inform yourself very well or you will regret it, talking from experience.
probably one that doesn't give me the free time to think how miserable the state of the world is
Something that'd support me financially without killing me emotionally.

Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed. Why spend the majority of your life working a job you hate to earn money you can spend on yourself after you're finally done working and you're old and tired?

because you use that money to do the stuff that makes you happy. like guns, blackjack and hookers.
Well, Enzyme is not wrong there at all.

However, it's not always so easy to know beforehand if the job is truly for you - Once you're in, it's hard to get out.
Having tried to do stuff I hate your best option is always to do what you love. Do you like beating the shit out of bad guys? Be a copper I dunno. Do you want to make video games? Do that? Do you want to be a conceptual artist who hangs potatoes in his garage? I mean who doesn't
As a Turkish male I HAVE to join the military for a period of up to 9 months...just hoping I won't get sent to the Southeast
I'm personally thinking of a career in history or anthropology or maybe even Turkology(Yes it is actually exists seriously).
But then I'll most likely end up as a tourist guide or translator
