I had not been building or anything.

I wonder if it's F1 related, if that keeps happening upon opening the F1 menu just let me know here. We do have a new F1 planned for development that should fix the issue if that's what is causing it.
I will keep you updated.

Do you have any ETA on the new F1-menu?
I believe it was planned somewhere in the next few months.
, there have been multiple optimisation updates recently, any update on this issue?
I will try later today.
I'll keep you updated.
I did a "factory-default"-bat-file that were in the garrysmod folder where it saves all the errors.
It got rid of everything, got in, 4 minutes in jail and got out.

As I got out, I binded the voice-chat-button. And the millisecond I pressed that button, BAM, right back to desktop, no error-message.
I recommened sending the crashlog to Facepunch. I am not certain what it is but I don't think this is just an issue with LimeLight.
Have you by any chance used this three commands?
Code:
gmod_mcore_test 1; mat_queue_mode -1; cl_threaded_bone_setup 1

If so, try setting them back to 0 and rejoining the server. They are experimental and might be causing crashes.
I have always used gmod_mcore_test 1 as I get around the double FPS with it. But I can try without!
Please update us when possible.
Yeah if you're using mcore_test that's almost certainly your problem in regards to crashing while shooting, that only happens to me while using the multicore option.

It might fix crashing with F1 but if it doesn't then try disabling antivirus if you have any, that's helped me in the past.

Running CCleaner is unnecessary and you don't need to run a registry cleaner with any sort of regularity (twice a week is really excessive). It can only go up to 1.5GB if the MSDN is up to date

Out of memory does not mean out of RAM. GMod is 32-bit and thus can only use 3-4GB of RAM regardless of how much RAM you have installed in your PC and regardless of whether or not your PC is 64-bit.

, if you were talking about the Windows page file when you said virtual RAM then it is absolutely not a good idea to remove it. I have 32GB of RAM and my page file is just shy of 5GB. There's usually no reason to manually set a page file size, if you leave the settings unchecked Windows handles it fine. There is no performance gain to disabling the page file.

Additionally, if your computer is set up correctly, you can typically use more memory than you have RAM without programs crashing (but that only works if you have a sufficient page file)
Reasons I stated to remove VRAM or page file was because, if for some reason it uses it, it is extremely slow and relies on the speed of your drive more so your ram. Removing your page file memory will not harm your computer in anyway, so I see no reason to not remove it if you have 16Gb+ of actually physical system memory. The only use for it, is running out RAM while multi-tasking. It creates a safe zone when using a lot of applications, so your system does not fail while multi-tasking. But back on topic, I have had an instance to where I had trouble running games, I turned of my page file, and then it worked fine.
What you're referring to is called thrashing and isn't usually a problem, especially in newer versions of Windows and when you have a lot of memory. There are many cases where you would need large amounts of RAM (maybe Willy wants to use DeepFakes to create some fancy custom porn and needs lots of GB of RAM for neural networks). If you were having issues with games I'd reckon there's probably an issue with your hard drive and disabling the page file was just a band-aid for it.

Don't take it from me:

, this thread has been up for a long time, any update on this issue?
Trying to join the server over the past few days and this also keeps happening to me. Random crashes every time I try to play, sometimes literally as soon as I join, sometimes every few minutes and sometimes after a bit longer. I have only Limelight needed addons subscribed to and have tried reinstalling and repairing the game several times. Don't think it's a problem on the client end as Limelight worked a while ago for me without crashing on the same hardware and software setup. Hopefully some sort of solution can be worked out ASAP as it seems to be affecting quite a few people.
