Then have a realistic medical system to treat peoples injuries. I don't know if anyone knows what I mean by the ARMA 3 one I forgot what it was called, I think it was ACE.

Where you have bandages, morphine, stitching and all that.

The ACE advanced medical system in Gmod would make me cum, literal buckets. The usage of different drugs, having to know HOW to treat certain wounds. Holy shit.

Have fun teaching (random) kids about the ACE medical system.

Would bleeding out be a thing? As if you got in an artery in your leg you wouldn't just be moving slower.

Oh hell yea. And hopefully overdosing, cardiac arrest, etc.
The ACE medical system is a huge no from me. I know how to treat injuries IRL and in many of renditions of ACE across various games, ARMA 3 for instance. Though I haven't experienced it in Gmod, I can already imagine the annoying factor to that system as it translates to the steep learning curve. Additionally, many of those medical systems aren't as accurate as you'd might imagine and usually have odd issues. That 1942 RP had some "advanced" medical system that involved bandages and whatnot, but it was basically a huge waste of time and effort in most cases, as the subject tended to die before full treatment, be it from wounds or from an execution.

The above being said, I also do not like the medkit swep doing the heal the way it does. Is there perhaps a middle ground between full fakecore medical like ACE and plain fake like the medkit system we use?

I'm also largely against the idea of arm hits dropping weapons and leg hits causing cripple effect till treated. In both cases, the instance of trolling comes to mind. On PERP, the typical troll will just tap everyone in the leg while cop, then say it was a stray round from some other situation.

The arm idea is worse in ways because we don't have a instant use = equip system, meaning that you would either need binds to get the weapon back out quickly, or have a backup weapon. Neither case covers the loss of ammo in this process.

Beyond that, couldn't care less about how fakerealism or nonrealism you go with the weapons, as I try to avoid even using the sweps that fire bullets.

I would love to see a better medical system, just not the nerdfakecore (ACE) systems that are too complicated for the average user, nor the crap we started with, or even what we have. Hell, the original medkit that healed 15 hp on hit and had a cooldown delay was almost better than what we use now, and it was crap too. I suppose being a former medic, I'll never really be happy with any of them, so whatever you decide I guess.

My beef with ACE is that whomever made it, wasn't a medic, or not good at putting the actual concepts into a game environment. Issues like being able to skip steps, system giving bad reports to the "medic", and many other bugs come to mind. Stuff like how most ACE requires the use of QuikClot powder, something we don't even use anymore, mainly because it had a habit of being carried by wind when applied, resulting in potential permanent eye damage shortly after contact. Or even how it tries to simulate breathing, pulse, and BP, in a text format, without updating changes to those conditions without going in and checking. Long story short, a person will spot a change in breathing visually 9/10 times after they have checked for it the first time, and BP is impressively hard to get when there is a gunfight going on, unless you do over palp, which isn't really all that reliable anyway. Would love to see the BP cuff swep though, if you had that level of nerdfakerealism, I'd at least try it.
Thank you all for your input here, it will be considered as the PVP system is reviewed.
