I think the Iphone X is pretty ugly.

Personally, I'd get neither of them.
The Galaxy S8 already has a lot of the features in the iPhone X (a few that are actually better) and is significantly cheaper.

I enjoy my iPhone 7 cuz I get hard ons for Apple phones.
I enjoy my Airbuds cuz they're surprisingly hard to lose and have an EXTREMELY long charge time and only need 10 minutes to recharge fully.
The issue is that you're likely comparing your MacBook to a much cheaper Windows laptop. If you were to compare your MacBook to a similarly priced laptop, there would be no comparison; the Windows laptop would blow it away with an Intel i5/i7 mobile CPU and likely a desktop NVIDIA GTX 1050ti/1060 GPU.

I actually had a fairly priced laptop compared to the MacBook with an Intel i7 (Don't remember the graphics card. Probably onboard tbh. It was just used for notes and some media editing), especially since I was able to get 3 discounts on the MacBook. Only had the Windows laptop for a year before it started losing battery life and began degrading in processing power. Switched to a MacBook that was the same price discounted and it so far works better than my previous laptop. I wouldn't compare a $1300 MacBook to a $200 piece of garbage, trust me.

$1000 for a phone? No thanks.
Apple products don't suck like most of you said, but they are overpriced for what they offer.

They are VERY overpriced. Usually though all you gotta do is wait a month at most and they will be marked down or you can buy a used model. That's how I got my MacBook. New model came out, waited, and I got a used model + a store discount + a student discount.

I guess we can say from this that Windows laptops aren't typically consistent in quality because there is so much variety, whereas with MacBooks you know what you're getting. What I'd say however, is that good research can get you a better Windows laptop for the same price of a MacBook.

That may be the case with MacBooks, but not at all the case for iPhones unless you buy used. Apple are notorious for keeping the price of the iPhone consistent whilst it is the latest model so that early buyers don't feel like they've been ripped off with later discounts.

Waited a week after the iPhone 7 came out and nabbed a slightly used model from Best Buy for half the price. Still got it and it's in great shape.
