In the last week, there had been made a law, that the Government can infect devices (Smartphones or Computers) with a virus (Trojan) if a person is suspected to be a suspect in anything.
Helping illegal refugees to get the asyl request to downloading films illegal to monitor anything.

This is basicly what the NSA did with their citizens, the exact same thing.. And when the NSA or BND Isnt allowed to spy on there people, the NSA spies on german citizens and BND spies on american citizens and hand over the information to the other Secret Service, so they can say.. Hey, somebody spied on my citizens, i wasn't it but the other.. bad Secret Service..

The bloody law got passed as fast as possible, so no citizens get aware of it, and infact, it seems to have worked.. There is nothing in the media that this law had been passed, this is such bullshit.

Not much of a surprise, Germany doing what it has always done best.
Hopefully they can root out terrorist plots before they even begin...
Sounds like something Hitler would do.
Well, I wouldn't say any mainstream media didn't talk about it. Just to name a few: süddeutsche.de or zeit.de. Especially zeit.de has a lot of reputation.
Pure democracy!

It got passed by a parliament of elected officials, but that's besides the point. Point is I wouldn't like seeing those kinds of programs used on anything but extremism. Unless with judicial consent, it's just concentrating power in the hands of law enforcement agencies. I can get system like those being implemented on let's say Blood and Honour, black blocs or religious fundamentalists, but for all crimes? Pure state of surveillance shit here. You google in "weed grinder" and you find the coppers strip searching you the day after? Utter BS.
Even less freedom, Germany just wait for your country to turn into a terrorist one who makes their citizens believe they have freedom when they actually dont
Oh boy...........…

No flame war for me

Keep it cool
To be honest, I don't see this as a surprise

The year is 2017, where the drones are almost flying everywhere, you can see where any of your online or real life friends are (snapchat update) this is a new era of amazing technology, something like this has to be apart of this future.

I'm sure sooner or later they'll be police operated drones, as they might be better and cheaper than police helicopters and so much more will be enhanced, it may come as a shock that governments are going to do something like this but I'm sure in about 5 years time it'll be something normal.
I'm honestly surprised by the responses to the law.

Just because the federal government CAN look at innocent people's devices, it doesn't mean they WILL. As you said before, they are going to be using the law to get more information on suspects in crimes. If you abide by the law, there is no reason for the feds to be spying on you. If you are breaking the law, there is probable cause to look at your devices for further evidence of criminal activity. The article even said they need a court order to use the malware to look at chats, etc.

Germany isn't turning into an authoritarian regime, nor is it turning into the world from 1984 by George Orwell.
If it requires a court ruling is basically the same as warranting a property search or a computer search done manually, via operator. Though, I think it shouldn't be allowed for low-grade victimless crimes such as drug possession.
