Camorra
The Camorra are an Italian-American crime syndicate whose illicit inner functioning are concealed to non-members. It has its roots embedding in the region of Campania, and grew to become Italy’s oldest and largest crime organisation. Due to its strong political connections, the Camorra are effectively untouchable.
History
The Camorra are thought to have been linked to the Garduña, a mythical secret criminal society founded in medieval Spain around 1417. Though historians speculate they may have grown gradually out of small criminal gangs operating in Neapolitan society.
The syndicate made its first public debut during the years of the Napoleonic Wars. By this time, they were no longer local gangs living off theft and extortion; they now had a fixed structure and a strong system of hierarchy. Over the next few decades, the Camorra developed into power brokers, selling their influence to the highest bidder.
As they developed from small towns, many people saw them as the leaders of the poor. Using this to their advantage, the Camorra formed cordial relationships with politicians and government officials - supplying them with community support. The heads of the syndicate used their newly founded political influence to protect their clients from the local authorities. They allowed them to carry out their work without any limitations.
Once the 20th century begun, the Camorra expanded its practices into and across the United States, and began meddling with Italian-American mafias.
According to local media sources in EvoCity, the syndicate is lead by power-hungry Muhammad Suhammad, along with his right-hand men, Francesco Schiavone and Vincenzo de Falco. Prior to his elevation as head of the syndicate, Suhammad lead all Camorra operations in the United Kingdom. During his tenure he gained many titles such as “Arab Clover” and “Don of Aberdeen”. Before joining a life of crime, Suhammad graduated from Sandhusrt before serving in both the First Gulf War and the Nepalese Civil War.
All members abide by the omertà, a code of honour which puts emphasis on silence and loyalty. The syndicate does not forgive nor does it forget those who have worked against them or have broken the omertá; due to their overreaching and unlimited power, once the green light is switched on, it cannot be switched off.
