Yakuza Violence Emerges as Boss' Daughter Found Missing
Over the past week, there have been numerous shootings that EvoCity authorities have tied to the Yakuza. Law enforcement are low on resources after several new criminal enterprises have propped up; this has given the Yakuza Syndicate plenty of opportunities to perform its dirty work in the shadows.
Last Monday, Bunji Nakamura, a 55-year-old leader of the Chushin-kai crime syndicate, was found and shot and seriously injured, with wound to his face and abdomen, in the parking lot adjacent to the office building. Two white suited men pulled into the parking lot as Nakamura entered after leaving the offices; the driver suddenly swerved into Nakamura, knocking him off his balance. The two exited the vehicle before severely beating Nakamura, severing his pinky and finishing him off with three bullets.
Then on Wednesday, a patient at the hospital was shot to death. The victim, Hiroshi Miyamoto, a 34-year-old sheet metal worker in the hospital for a "work-related" injury, was shot several times in the left side of his chest and other parts of his body in his private room by a gun man who forced his way into Miyamoto's room and fled by car. Reports say that authorities were investigating Miyamoto on suspicion that he was tied to the Seido-kai group, although with his death, the case has been closed.
On Thursday, two masked gunmen entered a bar on Top Street and opened fire in apparent attempt to assassinate Kumio Goto, a 57-year-old former boss of a gang affiliated with the Inagawa-kai syndicate. Goto was seriously injured but escaped with his life while five others were killed: his bodyguard, three bystanders and one person who was seriously injured and died later. Goto had survived an earlier attempt on his life. The attack was believed to have been ordered by the Yakuza Syndicate in retaliation for an attack on senior members by Inagawa-kai affiliated gang at Corleone Estate the week before.
Many have speculated that these attacks are all linked to Oyabun Yoshirou, the new tyrant of Kurokawa Kai who became its leader after killing and extraditing all old members of the family, and the disappearance of his daughter - Kiyoko Yoshirou. Yakuza have been tearing up the city as Yoshirou becomes desperate to find her before his enemies do. One question remains: Is he too late?
