John Hurt's portrayal of the War Doctor from Doctor Who (BBC)

Sir John Hurt's wife, Anwen, has led tributes to the veteran actor after he died at the age of 77.
The Bafta-winning star, known for his roles in Alien, The Elephant Man, Doctor Who and Harry Potter, had been treated for pancreatic cancer in 2015, but has passed away today.

It saddens me a lot to see him dead. Hurt is definitely one of my absolutely favourite actors, and i've watched all his portrayals, from Alien to his Winston in 1984. This guy has brought so much joy to my life, and i send my deepest condolences to his loved ones. I couldn't avoid letting a tear drop because of his death.

Thank you for everything. Rest In Peace, buddy.

A legend has been taken from us today.

Always knew him as the voice of the dragon in Merlin... and Mr Ollivander in HP. No doubt there'll be a wand raising everywhere.
